'08 Silverado 2500 Hd Crew Cab Noises

I just bought a new '08 Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 with the LT1 equipment (0% Interest sold me!). I really love this truck but an oddity has cropped up that has me puzzled.

 

Sometimes - and not all the time - there is a 'creaking' noise when I drive over anything but smooth highway. Entering the driveway, over a pot hole, (sometimes, I think it happens if I just drive over a paint stripe!), over a curb - anything that makes the chassis 'flex' causes this odd noise. But - it does not happen all the time. Hmmm....

 

My thinking is that it might be the door seals or the body/bed mounts. Ideas? What has me really puzzled is how this is intermittent (more often than not though) and I can not pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from.

 

Anyone else? My truck will go back to the dealer for its first free oil change so I will have them look at it then. Does anyone know if there is any sort of bulletin for this problem?

 

Would a liberal application of silicone spray cure the ills? I can not find anything loose or even remotely so - but this squeaking/groaning/creaking is driving me nuts - sometimes.

theres a couple GM bulletins out... one is for the door striker on the pillars... it makes noises due to body flex.. and another is creaks from a body mount... more than likely its one of those 2. take it in and let em check it out.. best i can do without actually hearing it

I FIXED it! I bought a can of good silicone spray, liberally sprayed the outer weather seals at the top/sides of all four doors and the noises are gone.

 

Best $1.24 I've ever spent for the quiet it got me.
