Cognito Motorsports Leveling Kit-michelin Ltx A/t2

I have a GMC 2500HD Extended, SLT, Standard Box, Duramax.

I had a Cognito leveling kit, Pitman and Idler arm Support kit installed with Bilstein shocks. Additionally, I installed Michelin LTX A/T2 285/70/17 Load Range D. The stock tires had 7K on them and with the Cognito kit, the clearance under the skidplate was 12 inches. With the Michelin tires I now have 13 inches. The tires carry a cold air pressure rating of 65 PSI. The tires were tried at 57 PSI cold and the result was a feeling of body yaw and floating on the tires. I increased the tire pressure cold to 65 PSI and the body yaw and floating went completely away. The tires are almost as quiet as stock or the Michelin LTX M&S. The TPMS system is OK with any pressure over 60 PSI.

The Pitman and Idler arm Support kit has made the steering much more solid and tighter feeling. An amazing improvement.

Gresham Four Wheel Drive did my install. See this article: http://www.off-road.com/trucks4x4/article/...l.jsp?id=200036

The full install of both kits was $1291. America's Tire gave me $200 for the takeoffs and added another $80 off to match a current Costco Michelin truck tire discount.

Conclusion: the Cognito kits are the best for those who can afford them. The Michelin LTX A/T2 tires at 65 PSI will handle any heavy duty truck with no yaw or floating. They are very quiet and make a great road tire with significant off road capability. I do have a slight rubbing of the inner fender liner on one side only and only at full lock. The tire just barely hits the fender liner and I may do some trimming.
