Auto-ride Air Pump Question

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

I have the misfortune of having the "Auto-ride" feature on my Tahoe. I was poking around under the truck the other day and noticed that the little air pump that pumps up the shocks had movement. What I mean by that is: you could grab it and rattle it up and down on its mounting bolts a good inch or so. Almost like they didn't put big enough rubber grommets between the mounts and the pump.

I pulled all the bolts and put rubber mounts on the bolts that make it fit tight now. No more bouncing up and down.

My question: Did I do something that I will be sorry for? In other words, did the engineers think it would be a good idea to let the air pump bounce up and down like that? Should I take MY mounts out and put the loose ones back in?

Any advice appreciated.

Thank you,

James
