my buddy just got back from his honeymoon..they went on a cruise to Alaska and spent a few days there. He loved it until his 08 rental Equinox got smashed by a Moose. I would love to go hunting in Alaska someday before I go

Jeff, no problem, I will take one for the team!

Joe, you should come up for a vacation...beware, that is what I did, and fell in love with it! It gets under your skin!

where you from originally? When did you move to Alaska?

Do they have any Machine builders up there?

Central Washington. I moved here in Jan 2000.

Machine builders? Expand on that one, please :D

Capital Equipment, Factory Automation, Special Machines...etc. I am guessing unless I want to design automated bear and fish processers, I am out of luck. :D

Jeff, been meaning to ask you. What type of engineer are you? (I'm guessing you design machines for factories :D)

Most of the mechanical/design engineers work for the oil companies. There is so much involved with challenges here pertaining to drilling, production, and delivery of oil and gas, that they are constantly re-writing the books on how they do it.

Obviously, no expense is spared, and it would definitely be worth looking into.

And funny enough, you may be right about fish processing...man that is a HUGE business, and the machinery is impressive. It is on a large scale too, but I have no idea if it is actually designed and manufactured here
