Radio Instal Problems

i have a 2003 silverado with the factory amp, and im using a axxes gmos-04 for the wiring. i got it all hooked up and i can get a little bit of volume and just as you can start to here it the sound cuts out then comes back on and will keep doing this untill you turn it down a little. i tried playing with the gain on the side of the box but it just become distored at a low volume. i cant seem to figure this out any help is welcome. thanks

It sounds like there is either a problem with the Metra harness or how you've got it connected.

 

What it sounds like is happening is that the OEM amp is receiving too large of a signal on the inputs to the amp and is doing auto volume limiting.

I would bet that it's your Axxess module. Those things are a POS and fail all the time.

I've had good luck with PAC and Peripheral stuff.
