Scored A Decent Deal Alpine Iva-w205

Well just for giggles I thought I would swing in to Ultimate Electronics and take a look at a few decks that I've been considering for the Denali. I've been seriously thinking about the IVA-W205 0r the IVA-W505. It just so happened that this particular store was doing a little remodeling and they needed to unload a few old display units. One of which being the 205. I couldn't believe the price that they had listed for it. . . $199.99! :D Granted this was a display unit so its not perfect. It has a small scratch on the left side in the black molding around the touch screen, a light scratch on the upper left of the touch screen, and another light one on the right side black molding. Here is some quick pics that I took with my phone:

In the first pic it looks like there is a mark on the touch screen but thats just a smudge. Normally I wouldn't consider a unit that has scratches but for the price I couldn't pass it up. When the unit was on you hardly notice the scratches so I don't think it will bother me too much once its mounted in the truck. Now I just need to pick up the rest of the modules so I can mount this thing. Correct me if I'm wrong but I need the RAP module, the TR-7 module for video playback, Alpine KCA-620M USB hookup, and the PAC SWI jack for the steering wheel controls. Ohh and a dash kit. :D

Well I ordered a few parts to start getting this show on the road. I ordered the PAC-TR7 module for $24.70 shipped, the PAC SWI-JACK for $50.67 shipped, Alpine KCE-236B full speed aux-in adapter (aux-in adapter that plugs into the ipod input spot) for $31.98 shipped, and the Scosche dash kit for $30.97 shipped. Everything should be here by the 23rd at the latest. We'll see.

I swung into work to pick up a few other peices to the puzzle too. The Scoshe GM21SR Onstar/BOSE interface module, antenna adapter, and 3 rockford fosgate dual twist rca signal cable (16ft a piece). Granted I don't have my amps yet but I figure I'll run the cables in preperation for them since I really don't want to keep pulling the dash apart. Thats how clips break.

All I still need to accumulate are the two new amps (Alpine 1.600 and 4.100), dynamat in bulk, Infinity perfect components for the front, and the Infinty kappas for the rear. I am debating digging around on the internet to see if I can find an Alpine PXA-H701 Multi channel audio processor. Its basically the early version of the Imprint they use now. The W205 doesn't support the Imprint technology I believe so if I want to fully use the audio quality of this deck I'm going to have to pick one up. The problem is they are discontinued and are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

I think Friday I'll start setting the harnesses out on the work bench and soldering them together. I'll probably mount the HD radio box too. I'm thinking I'll mount it under the passenger seat. If and/or when I decide to purchase the sound processor box I'll probably mount that under the drivers seat. I'll post pictures of the progress.
