2wd Front Level Lift Kit Help?

I have an 07 Classic Sierra, bought new and the dealer lowered the rear 2" before I bought it last year. I have the original factory rear shackles somewhere in the garage. I've been haulin/towin with the back dropped since last year. Now, it's starting to get to me. I want to raise the rear back up to stock height but, don't want the front so much lower, I'm not much for the raked look anymore. So, anyway, I was thinking about buying a Pro Comp 2.5" front leveling kit. If I do that, what's the tallest tire I can run with factory gears? I currently have 245/75/17's. I would like something a little taller and more heavy duty for towin/haulin with my landscape business. I also have very weak/bouncy/soft shocks. Would like something a little more heavy duty for towin as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jason

Knowing which gears are in the truck would help us answer the question better.

 

Look on the RPO sheet in the glovebox for:

 

gu5 = 3.23

gu6 = 3.42

gt4 = 3.73

gt5 = 4.10

My bad, I think it's 3.23 or 3.42 I will look tomorrow, when it's daylight

Thanks but, now I unsure if I want to raise it up? I think it'll look like a stock 4x4 if I do and I don't like lifted 2wd trucks. Just don't see the point in it, bout like lowered 4x4's. AWD is a total different story though.

You could do a 2" coil spacer in the front. :lol:

Yeah, I saw a 2.5" coil spacer. Anywhere you recommend getting one at?

No idea, never had to buy parts for a 2wd. :lol:

i bought a nice kit recently for my nbs 2wd from ccm offroad, they sell all their stuff on ebay for alot cheaper than most companies. it is a 2.5" front/1" rear lift, which looks alot better than the readylift i have in my signature....... oh and just because you don't have 4wd doesn't mean you aren't ever gonna need a little extra ground clearance once you leave the pavement

Thanks, looked at their stuff on ebay and they don't seem to have anything for my Classic.... It's all 07 NBS. I found a kit for front only, 2.5" urethane spacer for $170+shipping. Little pricey but, cheaper than lowering my truck. Also says I can run max 33" tires. That should give me a total of about 4" lift?

So, according to that, I would get 3" left spindles, 4 Nitro 9000 shocks (+$25), and a 2" block kit shipped to me for $512.38 That sounds like the better deal to me? I could still keep my 17's and possibly run 32-33's with no problems? What do yall think?

i think you're honestly playing with fire, the boys on here hate rough country because so many of them have bought kits that are complete sh*t and have had to buy something else. do a search on rough country 3" and you'll find some interesting stories

Thanks guys, I just decided to put on my 20's and leave the trucks' height where it's at, except for the 2" drop shackles that were already on it. I can post pics if needed?

      Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.

      Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?

      Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.

      Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.

      I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
