Voltage Reading From Coolant

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a P0430 code which indicates a bad cat. But my parts guy suggested I check the voltage between my coolant(probe in the coolant) and th ebattery ground ( mine was .025 volt) and he said if it was over .03 to replace the coolant and this might stop the computer from throwing codes. Before I replace the cats has anyone heard of this?

thanks

The coolant MV test is to check the acid ratio of your coolant and has no relation to the P0430 code. Go to the chart in your factory service manual to check out P0430 code the correct way.
