Fuel Pump / Sender Replaced

Recommended Posts

Posted

I replaced the fuel pump / sender, yesterday, and noticed the sock intake, at the bottom, was black, the grey and black wires, inside the tank, at the top, were exposed and insulation was melted, and the bushing, on the fuel sender, were shavings. I have, had the fuel guage, acting up, for two years now, and the truck, not starting, until you hear the buzz, end, from the fuel pump. (basically, starting it, like a diesel) Surprizing, the fuel was clean, in the tank, after 10 years, of use. I bought a Mr. Funnel, to filter the fuel, in the tank, and got very little residue. I also, found out, that a long bed tank capacity, is actually 38.5 gallons, and the empty light, comes on, with 8 gallons, still in the tank. Also, replaced the fuel filter, since the fiel pressure, was released. I lowered the tank, instead of moving the bed.
