hello..i got a 89 gmc jimmy with the 4.3 4x4 and it seems to bog down alot..the best way to describe it is when im going down the road say 55mph i have to really put my foot in it to maintain that speed..i live in the county so i drive alot on paved curvy roads up and down small hills and if im going up hill the truck just bogs down and i have to hit the gas at liest halfway to the floor to maintain a serton speed.. the truck dont miss or hesitate or backfire through the tbi ,it just bogs down alot..now some days are better than others..i have changes plugs wires, replaced all vac. lines. sprayed carb cleaner around tbi to check for vac leaks..i changed the tbi to intake gasket just to rule that out. even changed the air filter.. i have not had a check engine light come on since i've owned the truck. the truck idles good and it starts up good so im at a loss to what could cause this..i even took the truck to a tranny shop to let a tech drive it and tell me if the trans was slipping, he said it shifted fine and smooth.. i know i smell gas fumes when i have to push the peddle harder to keep up to speed..could some help me out with this....thanks guys

Unplug the timing sensor, It should be a tan or brown wire from the distributor, may be in the glove box. Get a timing light and set to 0 deg off the #1 plug. Also check what the advanced is pulling.

Is there slack in the timing chain?
