NASCAR on NBC

While NBC had a great race to start with, I don't think they did nearly as well broadcasting it as Fox handled the first half of the season.  I thought the pre-race show was just boring, too much info we already know and all the conversation between everyone seemed forced, not like the "good 'ol boy" talk that Fox had.  The commentators in the actual race seemed to leave a ton of dead air time and not really keep my interest.  If it wasn't for the close racing I would have watched something else until the end of the race drew near.  Near the middle they had a breakdown in sound and putting pictures on the screen, don't know who is to blame for that.  And what is with all the commercials?

I'm not giving up on NBC here, I am just saying they have a lot of catching up to do as Fox set a very high precedent.

They ended it well though, the video of Junior and Dad, videos when he was a kid, etc. was kinda tear jerking...

Never did hear how Fraley in the Team Marine car did though.....

I have to say that I like Fox much better too.  The only thing I liked about NBC was Benny Parsons, other than that I think they sucked.  WAY TOO MANY COMERCIALS and the running order at the top of the screen sucks.  I like the scroll by order that EVERYONE has used in the past, the way they do it sucks.  Just my two cents.

NBC has a LOT of work to do to get their broadcasts up to FOXs level.  The commentating crew didn't seem comfortable together, everything was very 'business-like', no buddy-buddy, good-ole-boy banter that they had on FOX.  And the technical difficulties they had with picture and sound about drove me nuts.  There is no excuse for NBC to have anything like that happen.  They dropped the ball and lost a lot of yards on this play!

I thought their coverage was "OK". No Grammy winner. The Technical Difficulties kinda made me anxious. IMO they coulda picked a better "former Driver" than Wally Dallenbach. I felt like he was "A cat in a Dog-House" (If you get what I'm saying).

On a side note: Did anybody catch the Busch Race yesterday on TNT? Liz Allison (Widow of Davey Allison) is a pit reporter for TNT (Apparently).

The amount of commercials was what really pissed me off.  I really like Benny Parsons, but wasn't too impressed with Wally Dallenbach.  I sure hope it gets better as the season goes on.

The FOX coverage was better. I'm just glad to see Benny's back! That little NBC guy though,... He has to learn that when Benny makes a call about what's going on, he's usually right. Benny is like the John Madden of NASCAR. I wish Fox had grabbed him up.
