I have a 04 5.3 Silverado with only 38000 miles on it and I'm wanting to buy a charger to put on it. Any body have any opinions on which kind would be best or should I just try and find a jow gibbs take off supercharger. I have some buddies who work at salvaged who could get their hands on one I bet.

There's a few guys on here who have done superchargers on their trucks. A search should bring up the threads. Some makes to look at are Whipple, MagaCharger, ProCharger, amongst others.

I want to say ProCharger as I ran a F1 on my race car any was very happy then went turbos.

But MagnaCharger is the best IMO. they made a TBSS with 9**hp. and with the new internal bypass. You get down low power.

I would buy a Magna for my street car but my turbos spool at 2500-3000 and max out power at 900rwhp. 348ci on 9:1 LS6 type block.

O'rly? Turbos? Spooling up 3K? What are you running, if I may ask. Trim, a/r?

take a look into SLP's kit, I've seen that it's been out for a couple months now. Might be more pricey, but it's a complete kit. It features an eaton supercharger, capable of running 9 lbs of boost, intercooler, new fueling hardware, and a tune to adjust the PCM along with everything else needed. Supposedly makes 460 HP with 460 ft lbs of torque.

+1 about needing to beef up the tranny if you want to utilize that new found power.

We have Magnachargers (112) on both the Tahoe and Silverado SS, a TVS will be going on the TBSS soon as well. What can I say, we love them!! There are quite a few deals on the Radix's as they change over to TVSs, just saw one on performancetrucks.net for $2750 shipped.
