Rear Parking Assist

I have a 2009 Chevrolet Z-71 Crew Cab and was wondering if there is any way to readjust the rear parking monitors so I can leave my hitch adapter in the receiver. If the adapter is in then you have to run the assist in by-pass which defeats the purpose of having it to hitch up to trailers.

 

I have not talked to my dealer yet about the problem.

i have the same problem on my 09' siarra but my wifes 09' Yukon works fine with my hitch on the back of it

I know it doesn't help much but my back up auto bypass when the truck starts and the sensors view the hitch. So I added my plate frame camera to a Alpine nav radio. I love the frame mount cam I can back up fast and spot on. Worth the $200.
