Gm Got Me Again......

So, I thought I was getting "Chrome Wheels" on my White Diamond Silverado. Was cleaning it up today and detailing the wheels, I realize on the wheels are nothing but cheap plastic chrome covers. So, I pull out my window sticker and it says chrome clad wheels. I read it to believe it had chrome wheels. I feel sick.

Dodge has the same setup maybe others as well.

Toyota as well, but on the Toyota, you can tell it is a plastic cover. I did not realize it until I was down actually cleaning them. Just thought I would post up so others are aware. LTZ/White Diamond. Highest truck Chevy offers (as far as I am aware) and I got plastic wheels. HA! What a sucker.

That really sucks on such a nice truck. Do they come off? What's behind them?

The "chrome cladding" is actually bonded to the wheel. I cant take it off. I did take the center cover off to inspect it closer. Definitely plastic cover.

I would like to speak to someone about my disappointment (not that it would do any good). Is it even worth it? Dealer or GM???

Unfortunately, it was written in black in white on the window sticker. Not much you can do about it now. I agree that it is a cheap way to go on such a nice truck. Maybe this will be incentive to add so me nice custom wheels!

That's just wrong. I saw those on a truck today and thought something seemed a little odd about them. Does GMC do that too??

I'm guessing this is a weight thing? :rollin:

the '09 sierras look to be chrome clad as well. it's a money saving thing, not a weight saving thing.
