SKINNER TO DRIVE NO. 4; SPENCER LEAVING NO. 26

 

Larry McClure is putting Mike Skinner in the No. 4 Chevrolet next season. The announcement will come Tuesday because Skinner is having surgery on his left ankle Wednesday. And Jimmy Spencer says this is his last season in the No. 26 Ford. Those moves will launch discussions about other drivers -- Joe Nemechek, Jeremy Mayfield, Kevin Lepage and Hut Stricklin among them. Richard Childress still hasn't said who will drive the No. 31 next year, though Robby Gordon is driving the car now.
