2004 Buick Rainier "crow Hop"

I'm having intermittent problem with what I think the service dept. called "crow hop". It's AWD and only occurs when turning at slow speeds, I.E. turning into a driveway or backing out. Seems to be ok when going straight but when accelerating hard feel something. It only occurs sometime. I took it to the dealership and of course it would not occur and the mechanic found no codes and said he could not find anything wrong. I ask if the autotrac oil in transfer case may need to be changed and he said this would not cause the problem.

Any ideas? It's been doing this about a year, at first very intermittent, now getting more frequent and the wife is scared of it.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I finally got around to changing the transfer case oil. Bought four quarts of smurf oil, Auto trak II oil, drained old oil, was not blue and only got about 1.3 qts out with vehicle jacked up in front so all oil would drain out. Put two full qts back in before it started running out of fill plug hole. It's been about three weeks with no reoccurence of crow hop. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Good Luck
