Low Power

I have a 2003 Suburban w/5.3. It has been acting up lately, usually in the morning. When driving it will fall on its face and show LOW POWER in the speedometer readout. I was told possible cat was stopping up. Any help would appreciated.

You mean "reduced power"? Is this on say the first start up after a long sit? If so, I'd say its the chargin system. Check your power connections, battery, and alternator charging.

Yes, it does say reduced power. It usually is when it has been setting awhile, such as in the mornings.

If so have the code scanned andletus know the code

Also,get sme MAF cleaner fromy our auto parts tore and clean the MAF sensor.

Take the MAF off and spray the cleaner on the resistors (DO NOT touch the resistors) they are very delicate and will break!!

I replaced the MAF, cleaned the battery connections, replaced the fuel filter. I just don't know what else to do. Someone told the wife it could be the cat, but just don't feel that it is.

Check the resting and charging voltage. Especially at the initial start up in the morning. If the cats wer bad you would have a DTC set or poor performance all the time, not just at the 'morning' start up.
