4"inch Lift Vs 6"inch Lift

I have been doing alot of research and reading on these forums but can't seem to make up my mind. I know both would look good and both are gonna be close in price range. But what's gonna be easier on the truck? I don't plan on doing any off roading this is strictly for looks. I have been looking at rancho for the 4" and pro comp or fabtech for the 6". Are the basic systems with these kits a waste of money or are they good quality(for example: the ride remains close if not same as stock). Thanks guys I really appreciate this cause my girlfriend is getting tired of hearing about it lol!

adam,

no matter what way you go they are all good lifts. the rancho is about a 5.5 inch lift it says 4 but its not. so you might as well get one of the three they are all going to be right around the same height + or - a .5 or so. just do it you wont regret it. it feels awesome to tower over people. lol, if you have any ? hit me up

I've heard 6"s or higher on the half tons are hard on the trucks, especially with 35"s, allignent issues, steering issues, axle problems, 4" with 33s is good.

hey d,

i have a fabtech 7 inch lift and dont have any problems knock on wood, lol. i think it depends on what you do with the truck, mines a daily driver.

Yeah mine would only be a daily driver( really on the weekends only and occasionally during the week).

1stmarjhn you got me researching Fabtech quite a bit and it's kinda of a toss up between them and pro comp. I know what ya mean by towering over people..I test drove a classic model with a 7inch fabtech lift on it last year and I picthed wood lol. I would have bought it but the deal wasn't good enough for me so I walked away. One of the dealers close to me told me that a racncho 4" and pro comp or fabtech 6" inch are basically the same thing when it comes to price and parts. So it makes more sense to go with 6" but I think about parts wearing down and all that so that's why I considered a 4". Anybody else with a 6" have any issues or has it been smooth sailing since the install?

adam there all good lifts some are more expensive then others. i went fabtech because it sits a inch higher than a procomp and rancho. my friend has a procomp same truck and my mirrors are higher and i still have my 305/50/20 on just waiting to get 35x12.50/20 open country m/t.

Good to hear, & yeah that could very well be right.

Joepa your truck is too sweet! You definitely went all out on it. I think i'm gonna stick with a 6' pro-comp or 7' fabtech. It's only a little less than 200$ difference any my custom guy said Fabtech is a very nice kit and very easy to install for him. Which is making me lean towards Fabtech because the easy it is on him the less he charges me lol.

I have a 4" Tuff Country lift. Its pretty stiff ride. 305/55/20 rub on the EXTRA THICK mud flaps when I'm full lock in reverse only.

That is a nice looking truck nbscancuck. I'm trying to warm the girlfriend up to it cause she's short and would have to climb up into it. But she's slowly starting to get into...just having to work my magic lol. I've searched around for all kinds of deals and I think I have found the lowest possible deal I could find on everything...just have one more place to call about tires to see what they can do.

Thanks

My wife is 5'6", she doesn't have any problems getting in with the step bars and the grab handle. She resisted it at first, but I think she's starting to like the higher seating position and the view.
