Predator vs. Hypertech

im deciding what kind of hand held programmer i should get.

i will be buying a volant cai, and i have a flowmaster with the same piping.

i want to improve my mpg, and be little quicker.

the one of the reasons i want a programmer is cause my speedo is off and and i want to take off the speed limiter.

which one is a better tuner?

if anyother tuner can do everything that hypertech does, PLUS more, i would gladly buy one over hypertech.

I have a predator handheld for my 03 mach1. The diablo people are great to work with. They also revise their tunes improve as needed and you can download the new revisions free of charge. Altought, Their tunes are better for a purely stock vehicle.

What would be the advantages of having a tuner over having a custom tune done? Especially if you are able to upgrade. It just seems to me that for the same money I'd let someone do it that knew what they were doing, I would think they could do it better than I could. I'm just asking though, not trying to sound like I'm bashing people w/ a tuner.

Im not up on my tech talk, but when yall talk about "TM Removal" that means it gets rid of the 4 second delay that the new trucks have when stepping on it, when it goes from closed fuel loop to open fuel loop. In otherwords giving you quicker throttle response?

I plan on getting a tuner for my new silverado, just not sure what kind yet...

NOPE. TM is called Torque Managment. Which is GM's band-aid for the tranny they call the 4L60E among others. TM pulls timing between shifts and closes the TB blade on newer trucks. About 8 degrees. Hell, it even pulls timing with the A/C on!!!!! But overall it makes the truck feel really weak.

What other handheld can scale for larger injectors, turn off the rear O2's, disable DOD, adjust fueling for 3 different RPM ranges, adjust timing for 3 different RPM ranges and kill torque management. Yep, none!!

Sorry for the stupid question, but my understanding is a custom tune will require a crank relearn...and you don't want to have a dealer do that, right? If I get a handheld tuner do I still need the crank reload?
