  2. I just tried the magnet removal trick and no luck for me. iPhone X. Even tried moving the phone all over the module itself. Seems that something registers as the battery says "85% Charged" but never indicates charging. ***FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR THE CONNECTOR TO ADAPT THEIR 16-17 HARNESS TO AN 18 CHARGING MODULE, I THINK I FOUND THE CONNECTOR*** https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/TE-Connectivity-AMP/2035363-4/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMs7eK6h2EBtKok8KA5yaiqOl1xbsXEwLiQ%3d

  5. I have a 2017 LT Z71 Silverado 1500, with power and heat mirrors and am going to install tow mirrors where can i get the DIY kit to get the marker/turn/cargo to work ?

  6. Towing with a 6.0l !!! If you want to get up the hills and actually use the engines power range. You should be in the 4500-- to 5000 RPM Range while towing heavy up steep hills. This is where the engine lives and will do its best work. Its a small block Chevy. Let it eat. 3000 to 4000 rpm you are right on the limit of fuel knock if you have bad gas and are unaware of it. 7. Because it requires GMTIS to override and put a custom BCM firmware in the system to turn those features on, and GM just doesnt allow that to be done now. The modules are all VIN tied now, so the system knows exactly what features were shipped with that VIN and it wont allow them to flash in features that were not there as the vehicle came off of the assembly line.

  8. Anyone with a laptop and GMs MDI system should be able to flash the module from Tis2Web with a 3-day subscription. People have done it with the Tech2 on the GMT900s so why not the latest?

  9. My father didn’t get pass 8th grade, I’m sure his spelling wasn’t too great. He still managed to own a few business and became a millionaire and had a few caddy’s and Lincoln’s. I don’t think he worried too much about spelling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. When State budgets get tight again I think we will see cops writing tickets for those lights. Not DOT approved. Around here there are people getting silly with those lights....matter of when the cops get orders to bust em for State revenue.

  15. Installed wireless charger in the console lid on my jump seat. Got the Choetech charger off amazon for $12.99 shipped. Install was very easy. Biggest concern was whether or not the charger would work through the rubber mat and the black plastic of the lid. Only way you can know the charger is there is looking in the console and seeing the usb cable connected. Might hardwire to cig lighter plug some day

  16. Just sharing what I found looking around. Working in IT, I am use to standards and rely on them regularly. It's odd the GM vehicles (2016-2017) state they are Qi compatible, and the iPhone 8/X states it is Qi compatible, yet they do not work together. Which one is not adhering to the standard, assuming they were both under the Qi specification 1.X.X I know they phone is newer vs. the truck, but standards are designed to clear this stuff up. Reading the article below from the Wireless Power Consortium (the folks who created the Qi standard), it sounds like newer Qi versions should be backwards compatible, implying newer devices should work on older chargers. (if I am reading and understanding it correctly) Pulled the text below about the Qi specifications from the following page: https://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/developers/specification.html Couldn't find a older listing for GM but this may be the Qi charging unit in the 2018's? https://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/products/details/1801/wireless-charging-transmitter A brief history of the Qi specification Qi specifications are numbered with three digits: X.Y.Z. For example 1.0.3 X is called the major revision number. Specifications with the same major revision number are backward and forward compatible. Y is called the minor revision number. A change in minor revision number implies that new requirements are introduced while maintaining backward compatibility previously certified products Z is called the editorial revision number. Editorial revisions include clarifications, integrate new transmitter designs into one document, and may add new test to the test specifications. CURRENT VERSION OF THE QI SPECIFICATION The current version of the Qi specification has version number 1.2.3. The Qi specification that is available for public download has version 1.2.2. Version 1.2.3 is available only to members of the Wireless Power Consortium. It will be made available for public download later in 2017. HISTORY OF THE QI SPECIFICATION Version 1.0 Qi transmitter delivers 5 Watt power into a Qi phone. Choice of transmitter designs include single coil transmitter, coil array transmitter, and moving coil transmitter. High flexibility in design of Qi receivers Limited flexibility in the design of Qi transmitters Version 1.1 Increased design freedom for transmitters. You can now choose between 12 different transmitter specifications. Increased sensitivity of "Foreign Object Detection". This prevents heating of metal objects in the neighborhood of an active transmitter. The possibility to power a Qi transmitter with a USB charger. Version 1.2 Fast charging. The possibility for transmitters to deliver up to 15 Watt power and the option for receivers to obtain up to 15 Watt. An improved thermal test for transmitters Improved timing requirements Changed limits for Foreign Object Detection improve the sensitivity. Optional unique identifier for power receivers (WP-ID)

  17. The 2018 works just fine with my iPhone X. I just went to the dealership and tested it out. I got the part number for the 2018 wireless charger module which is 13507652. The parts guy said that it only stated model year 2018 for that part. He also said that it is so new that there is no price in the system for it yet either.

  20. Yup, all the failed starter posts and all the starters we have had replaced in our GM vehicles gets tiring. Oh wait, I think we have replaced 2 or 3 that I can remember over many decades. I don't even recall seeing a failed starter posts, even searching only yields a few freak starting issues mostly frozen flapper valve or grease related (some electronic as well). Where are all these posts that show they don't last 40k? Or is that one of those you make it sound way worse then it is in hopes others believe its true stories because it happened to you once? Tyler

  22. Quite honestly, if you just read this thread, every single question you have has been asked before and answered. I just bought my Sierra in January, had the jump seat, and I wanted the console. I read this thread and did the installation in a jiffy due to the knowledge already put into this thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
