No leaks. Replaced the condenser 3 years ago. Problem was found to be caused by the A/C blend door actuator. Just replaced it and it's blowing out the cold air it used to when I bought it.

The 2023 one would be nice to get as its got the updated block and bottom end. Its the Turbomax spec L3B. Same RPO code "K", GM never changed it. I see a couple issues. 1st issue that I see is if you got a new engine from GM, there is an updated ECM calibration required for a new crate that services 2020-2022 non Turbomax/HO engines. What it does, I have no idea. I do believe the new replacement engines are also of the Turbomax spec but don't change to that tune spec. 2nd, 2023 is GM Global B computer platform, so if any changes were made to the connectors or sensors, those won't compute to your truck which is Global A. The other thing on that 2023 is there is a ground strap that is on the 2020-2022 engine that is not present on the 2023-up engine. So ideally, you'll want the right engine to be safe.

Where the truck was built doesn't matter, all the crank shafts were machined and created by a Mexican based company. The factory just takes the part off the shelf and installs it, the problem lies with the supplier and GM using cheap labor. As i said this is why the next gen v-8's, these parts are coming back to being made here in house, so they can make sure the quality is there. Still that does no one any good with a 2020-current truck using these botched parts. Only decent engine option right now is the 5.3 imo, no way in hell would i ever buy a truck with a 2.nothing 20+lb boosted 4 cylinder and the diesel has it's own share of major issue right now, these new v-8's literally cant come quick enough imo....

Cyclic Fatigue varies allot with the type of use it gets. Point is that the engine whose stress is the least, all other things equal, last the longest. Looking up on the web you can get the information that would seem obvious. You asked engine components to do more. You get more wear. The answer is they can last just as long but required more maintenance. Apparently having to change lifters, cam and associated components are maintenance or repairs. In some research the normal life span of valve train components are 80-100k miles with 3-5K miles oil change. So the next logical conclusion would be cost per mile. I use that analogy with my wife all the time with vehicles. My Odyssey is approaching 170K. The cost per mile will go up at 200K with maintenance. Looking at a low cost car. A K-4 with a 10-10 warranty. Selling my Ridgeline that’s about to hit the same maintenance milestone. My argument becomes not only I get worry free driving. But at no cost increases. Because I take the money from my Ridgeline and maintenance savings and other potential savings. I’m driving for free. So tying it with a bow. It makes you wonder. Is this a grand conspiracy by the auto makers? Raise the potential maintenance high enough. Buyers by extended warranty to 100K miles. Do the minimum maintenance required. Trade in at the warranty end. How long should they last? That question is what keeps people up at night. The answer is much more complicated than it used to be.

GDI Injector tips are in the combustion chamber and yes, they are subject to the same aromatic hydrocarbon based carbon build up the entire chamber is subjected to. Chevron Techron is a PEA based cleaner (polyether amine) that is VERY effective if the dose is high enough. Carbon the tips disrupts the spray pattern so keeping them clean is kind of a big deal. It will clean more than the injector tips. It will keep the inside of the injector tip clean as well. When they shut off they 'hot soak' building varnish internally behind the pintle. The tip, unlike most MFI systems have several orifices of very small diameter. They have to stay clean to work right. That spray pattern is supposed to spray into the cup in the piston, not all over the cylinder walls. Old guys will understand... Top Tier Chevron has enough of the cleaner to be effective if used regularly. Other solutions could be Shell V Power Nitro + Premium and Exxon/Mobil Supreme Plus Premium ONLY use a different chemistry to the same effect with the added bonus of a friction/antiwear additive as well. Red Line SI-1 is PEA based as well with an upper cylinder lube. There's a white paper on their site for shock treatment of system left untreated for long periods. AMSOIL PI has a full system cleaner of yet another chemistry that will strip carbon out of the power cylinder pretty quick. Gumout Regane is also PEA based but at very low doses and those that are isopropanol based will not be effective. Alcohol content is way to low. Chevron Techron in any pump gas, Use by package instructions. 10 oz per 15 gallons every 3,000 miles. First use may require two treatments. So, Techron, Red Line SI-1 and AMSOIL PI if batch treating and Shell, XOM Premium or any Chevron Fuel will not just keep it clean, but will clean it if dirty. No other fuel "I'm aware of will do that". Flex Fuel motors. If you use at least 40% alcohol on a regular basis they won't carbon at all. PEA is not recommended for fuels over E-20 (www.carparts.com)

Check the a/c condenser.............they are notorious for cracking at the pinch weld. Look through the grill on the driverside. There's a small tack weld. If I remember right if you hold up a black light the refrigerant will glow if the weld is cracked

Would not have been an issue if they put the correct oil in. General public mostly goes unaware when they go to quick lube oil changes. This is why I change my own oil.
