  1. Thought I would give some follow up to what has happened here. The parasitic draw on my truck was the result of corroded wires near the fuse block on the passenger side behind the kick plate. I am not sure how that happened. 800.00 dollars later and I was down the road. However, I have had so many issues with this truck I decided to cut my losses and traded it. I picked up a 2025 GMC Sierra Elevation with the 3.0l Duramax. The technology advancement in the new truck compared to the old one is night and day. The 2022 was the limited model. I want to thank GM customer service for their help. They were very responsive to my emails, and I am fairly certain they were in contact with the dealership who was working on my 22. Every issue I had with the 22 was electric, so for the first time ever, I went with an extended warrant of 5 years 100k miles bumper to bumper. These vehicles are getting so complex nowadays, I felt it was needed.
  2. Reviving this thread. Again went on a 2 week snowmobile trip to Quebec, and again came homee to a dead battery. Had to replace the battery in 4 degree weather in my driveway, that was fun. It had been at the dealer for 5 days now. They say there is a parasitic draw somewhere behind the dash. Anyone have any insight so I can point them in the right direction? All I can say is this truck has been nothing but a nightmare. 58k miles and it has been at the dealer 5 times now.
  3. In my truck, the heated steering wheel is luke warm at best. I'm thinking of trying a different steering wheel. Can you just swap them out or is there a computer upgrade if you will with a different steering wheel?
  4. Try changing the fuel filter. My MPG dropped noticeably, changed the fuel filter and came right back to its normal.
  5. The whole thing is scam perpetrated by GM. And what do we get here, a random supposed person from customer service, but no real action on anything. Just look at the guys thread where his tranny is overheating.
  6. So, I just had this done at my dealer. They said that my driver side parking brake actuator had a lot of resistance when they tested ohms. They replaced the actuator.
  7. Well, I brought my truck in for the service parking brake light. They said I needed rear brake pads and rotors. I was like WTF the truck has 44k miles on it and 34k of those miles are going to my place in upper VT, so not even touching the brakes. He gave me some BS excuses, but had them do the work. 190 miles later, the service parking brake light is back on. I am pissed to say the least. They never addressed the original reason I brought the truck in, just a scam job to get brakes done. I think GM is perpetrating a scam for more service work.
  8. Is there a total aftermarket replacement for this system? Calipers and all?
  9. Holy crap. That is unbelievable. I opened this thread because I have the same warning as others. Service Parking Brake, with the little wrench icon. WTF is going on with these GM trucks. I just had the driver side cooling fan replaced at 40k miles on the truck. Out of warranty. Now this light is on. Disconnected the negative terminal on the battery, did nothing. After a lifetime of GM trucks, this may be my last. I can't keep worrying about some random stupid electronic failure, and all the time to bring it to the dealer and cost. 43,900 miles on the truck and at the dealer twice now. Is there a final solution to this issue? And please don't respond that you lost engine power etc, that is not happening with me.
  10. Just saw a video on youtube. To clear this, just start the truck, press the brake, and hold the parking brake button for 10 seconds. It cleared. No trip to the dealer. But still, batteries dying cuz the truck sat for a couple weeks. This is the second time it happened actually. Went on a cruise for a week, came home and same thing, but that time I was able to jump it off my car.
  11. I just got back from a 2 week snowmobile trip in Quebec. I left my truck at my house in Vermont. Got back, and the battery is totally dead. Would not jump off of jumper cables. Had to call AAA, and they double jumped it with a jump box, and jumper cables. Drove it home 3.5 hours to my house in CT. Shut it off, and sure enough, it wont start. Put a voltmeter on it and is reading 3.3 volts. So I bought a new battery. Now I have a warning to service parking brake and a wrench symbol on the dash. WTF GM?? Off to the dealer I go, and I'm out of warranty as the truck has 40k miles on it.
  12. Place a piece of high dense foam in between leaf springs in the rear. One piece in the front part of the leaf spring, and one in the rear. Problem solved.
  13. Just to be clear, I haven't come on this site a lot recently because of the ads. It's annoying. And for us less tech savvy folks, thanks to SPA Sierra for the info on adguard. I installed it and now, no more ads, and will coming here a lot more.
  14. Had a 2004 with 5.3, traded for a 2007 with 5.3, gave that to my brother and got a 2018 with 5.3. Hated the 6 speed in the 2018 and the feeling of getting hit from behind every time I came to a stop. Traded that for the 3.0l with 10 speed. What a combination. From 325 miles a tank to 607 miles on my last tank before the low gas light came on. I am keeping this truck for a long time like I did with the 2007. My brother still has it and running great at 315K miles. He had to replace the bed as it rusted out, that it other than routine maintenance.
  15. Holy ******. I would be pissed. Imagine if my kid was in the truck.
  16. Heated seats done yesterday. Super stoked. as soon as they were done, headed to my place in northern VT, and it was a nice addition as it was 19F degrees here.
  17. I will ask about that too. They are also looking into my dreaded diesel exhaust smell in the cab on start up.
  18. My AMP research steps go to 11.25" off the ground. I love them, more importantly the wife loves them.
  19. Good advice. I did not receive my letter yet, called my dealer yesterday, told him what you said, and now have an appointment on 1/26. They are going to order the chip. Thanks.
  20. Just did the autostop eliminator in my truck. Very simple install, 15 minutes or so.
  21. 2018 GMC with 5.3 got 325 miles until gas light came on. 2022 GMC with 3.0 got 580 miles until gas light came on.
  22. Just installed them on my 2022. Love 'em. Will never go to another step.
  23. I put hot shot anti gel in mine. -31 in Quebec this year with it. No issues at all. Love, Love, Love this engine.
  24. My brand new truck has a weird issue. The radio, while playing XM will suddenly stop transmitting and sound will go dead, but then the screen goes black. 10 seconds or so later the sound will come on but the radio is still black, then it will lite up again. If it keeps happening, obviously will bring it to the dealer, but any ideas?
