You got my curiosity up about how much data I was using in the first 14 months of ownership. After looking it up I though there might be some that would be wondering how much or little data some of us are using. I use google maps sometimes -- but usually with my phone connected -- not sure if this means the traffic update info is from the phone or the truck. I use SiriusXM a little -- usually I'm listening to local FM instead. Don't use the other online apps at all.

"Diesel Hub" website has some good spec info about GM/Ford/Ram diesels and transmissions. Including this story about LM2, and they have added LZO info. 3.0 Duramax LM2 & LZ0 Engine Specs, Info, History (dieselhub.com) DieselHub lists a bunch of the differences with the LZO --

I can't help with the part numbers. You could get a quote for 'price and availability' from a dealer parts department or from one of the online GM parts suppliers. Parts department will have part numbers on the quote. I have been a long time GM trailering mirror fan. To make a long story short, I found (on a '21 1500) that the blind spot on passenger side when checking to the right at intersections was worse than with previous generations of cab/tow mirror. I didn't notice them being noisy. I factory ordered them on the '21. They were power fold. As pictured, I ordered the '23 without tow mirrors. The '23, doing same tasks, is getting better mpg as the '21. For my use, all the cameras have reduced the need and benefit of upright trailer mirrors. Might be different if a lot of camper or car hauler width towing is done. Packages with all the cameras will still have all the cameras if ordered with tow mirrors. Before adding them, I'd suggest finding one with the tow mirrors to drive. (buddy, demo, rental, etc) Drive an area, with lots of stops/intersections/corners to deal with.

I misunderstood. I thought you were looking for a way to shut it the centre stuff off, not just the screen. If it's a quick way to home screen you want to go to the home screen, press the 'home' hard button. It's right below the power button/volume knob. I usually have the centre screen on audio. I turn down the brightness on the dash at night -- but agree that it would be nice to be able to have zero light from the centre screen when desired. Dash illumination isn't very handy on these trucks either.

T1 1500's have factory tow mirrors available. 1500's were revised before the HD's and the T1 1500's didn't get tow mirrors until HD's platform was revised 21 LM2 and 23 LZO 1500 Denali's Both 4wd, both standard box and on 20's Ordered the 21 with tow mirrors and sunroof. Ordered the 23 with regular mirrors and no sunroof. Both trucks have the full camera stuff in the mirrors Bed cover was moved from the 21 to the 23. Both trucks doing/did the same jobs 36000+/- miles on the LM2 19000 so far on the LZO I log all fuel and do hand calcs to compare with the trucks tripmeter numbers. The 21 got 26. something over it's lifetime The 23 is running 29.6 so far. I don't know how much of the mpg difference is due to the mirrors. Speculation when LZO came out was that it might get slightly lower mpg. (because it has a higher output levels) That has not be the experience with these 2 trucks.

Also try pressing the 'home' button. Won't turn it off, but it may be less distracting than the display it puts up when turned 'off'

Adaptive cruise I make extensive use of cruise -- I often do speed changes using cruise buttons on the steering -- adaptive cruise reduces the amount that I need to intervene. I rarely run in heavy freeway traffic - but often and switch to no cruise or regular cruise if I do run in those conditions All 3 had the Intellibeam system for headlights -- I can take it or leave it. '23 has rainsense wipers -- less fussing that with intermittent wipers -- I can take it or leave it I've not had brake issues on any of them -- but not usually hard on brakes anyway. I'm doing the same job with the 3.0's as I did with the 16 5.3. I log every fuel fill and do hand calcs to compare with tripmeter numbers. The 16 got 20 (it had tow mirrors) The 21 got 26.something over the 36,000 miles I had it. (it had tow mirrors) The 23 is 29.6 aver the 19,000 miles it's gone so far (no tow mirrors) I'm was always a tow mirror fan. The bigger tow mirrors on the T1's have created a bigger blind spot on the passenger side. This blindspot the passenger side A pillar and the wider mirror. It is problematic when checking to the rhs at corners Getting away from these mirrors is another reason for the '23 instead of the '21.

2023 manual I've found -- Press power button - MUTE - screen displays whatever it was showing, but also indicates volume is 'off' Press and hold power button -- OFF -- IIRC the screen will show temp (or something) against a black background Turn display off but leave radio on -- I haven't found that one.

Does that mean you got it now, or still want further explanation?

Did you try it when the truck is moving and/or in gear?

I'd have zero concerns accepting the truck.

What trim level is the truck? The interior refresh, with the new digital dash and the new electrical architecture (Global B) has been in use in the 1500's since the middle of 2022 model year. I've not been hearing of common issues needing replacement. Any decent body shop can match the paint (and body work if necessary) to make a damaged area disappear. If the truck doesn't sell quick they will likely get the work done.

I agree with @newdude and @Chevrolet1 but if you want, you can check the part numbers at the accessories section of GMC or Chev. The accessories pages let you put in the year make model trim cab box etc -- and will give the part numbers that fit. Both cab and box size matter.

Last line is pin weight for a 5th wheel / gooseneck

These are the 'factory' available ones that I have. They can also be ordered the 'accessories' on GMC or Chev website or a dealer. There are versions for crew/short box and crew/standard box. They also have them available with black finish. They work with the mudflaps. The combo provides paint protection and an entry step.

DFM engines can run in something like 17 different 'modes' --- so there is no spot on the dash that indicates which mode it is in. If you put up the mpg page that shows best, instantaneous, and the rolling 'current' average --- and set it to show the 25 mile setting --- it can give a good idea of what is is doing under current driving conditions. The mpg screen can be set to show rolling 25, 50 or 400 mile averages. Tripmeters will show miles driven and average mpg since the last time they were reset. If you reset one of the tripmeters at each refill it it can easily be compared with handcalc tank averages. The truck does the mpg calcs for 25/50/400 all the time but only displays the one selected -- but you can switch between them at any time, without losing any accumulated data. All 2024 1500 LTZ with 5.3 have the L84, which is the DFM version
