Auto happens when the knob is set in the section that would have been 'intermittent' with the regular system. Off is still off. Low and high are still low and high. I find that I still fiddle with the 'intermittent sensitivity' but not as much as I usually did with traditional 'intermittent'. systems. Rain droplet size seems to change the way the system responds -- so it changes the sensitivity level I prefer. I have had the wipers go all with way to max speed when the control is in one of the intermittent settings. I had to drive it during multiple rain events of varying intensity before I believed it was actually doing anything.

Yes, IP is often used to indicate Instrument Panel. Tailgate buttons were 2 recalls. First was to disable the buttons on tailgate so moisture couldn't activate the switch. Second one was to actually do the replacement once switches were available. I think the first was early this year, and the second late spring. I only had if fall open a few times, but never since the buttons on tailgate were changed.

Have you tried moving the block that connects to F27 so it connects to F28 instead? Front side of passenger side fuse block

The F27 / F28 thing is so you have a choice -- RAP or continuous If you want the power to supplied as RAP use the default -- F27 If you want to switch it to continuous power -- pull the block and put it back so it uses F28. F27 and F28 power the same places, so if F28 is powered, the RAP function cannot shut those locations off.

My tailgate had been open a couple of times. I didn't think I'd hit the button, but of course I might have. It didn't seem to ever be related to weather /water intrusion at the tailgate switch. I did, and still do, keep crap in the spot under the switches (and I'm still pissed about loosing the console space to the shifter). Always seems to be something that gets put in the space each time I get in the truck. (on this one, the bed cover prevents the tailgate from immediately dropping, even it is unlatched -- so unlatched while parked it might probably won't drop until jiggled while driving) Anyway, a few months ago, the truck got the switch on the tailgate replaced under the recall It hasn't happened since. Coincidence? I don't know. Were there two problems? I'm wondering if they have also changed the programming to require a slightly longer press or the tailgate release button for the latch to release. Would reduce the probability of accidental button push activating the release. Extra 'fob button push time requirement' corrected a similar issue with the fob and trunk release on the early builds of the most recent generation of impala.

Fwiw, I don't like the view with the 'rearview camera' -- so I use the the conventional mirror almost all the time. Bedview displays on the centre dash screen, not on the mirror. The bedview has a + / - button that will change the zoom level. One view is mostly filled with the bed, and the top of tailgate is near the top of the picture. The other zoom level shows the bed and also road and traffic behind the truck. (but the 'zoom' of the lens makes items to the rear appear smaller than they do with a standard rearview mirror. The reaview mirror camera has 3 settings. Brightness, zoom level and up/down position. I don't know if GM uses a different camera set-up for the shortbox. My truck has the 6.6 foot box (standard box), so this may not be true on a truck with a shortbox. To see the top of the tailgate with the rearview mirror camera the up/down level must be set as low as possible AND the zoom to show as much as possible. When one of them is not set like that, the top of tailgate disappears. If the box was 10" shorter (the shorbox is 10" shorter) the top of gate would not show - unless the setup GM provides is different. I use the conventional mirror to see the top of the tailgate. I agree the conventional mirror view is restricted by the rearseat headrests, but the side mirrors cover the adjacent lanes.

If you have the technology package, your LTZ should also have the bedview camera. Does your CHMSL have 2 cameras mounted in it? (one for bedview and one for rearview) Note 2 applies to LTZ Note 2 applies to LTZ

I rarely use the navigation functions, when I do it's usually googlemaps. Speed limit display system displays the same regardless if I'm using nav or not. Speed limit display depends on the map data -- which isn't always up to date. Nearby there are some roads that have had recent speed limit changes -- but the system shows the old speed. On roads that don't have speed limit signs -- it shows no information -- rather than the default speed limit that exists for roads that aren't signed.

Didn't read all the responses in detail, so this might have already been covered. The algorithm for the OPM now includes calendar time as well as 'how the engine is being used. If it is not used at all, it will still count down so that it recommends an oil change at the same interval as recommended in the manual --- 1 year. So if 6 months in the truck only has 600 miles on it, the OLM will say 50% since the year is 1/2 over.

What's laughable is that you think they can collect $1200 (or whatever) a vehicle and pay out $3000/vehicle, and cover all the costs of promoting and selling and be in business. Of course some will collect. But most won't. I've been buying new vehicles for more than 40 years. I've had very few failures. None that extended warranty would gave covered.

Not outdated, it's just as true as ever. Those selling extended warranties do so because it makes them extra profit. If they were going behind the price would get cranked up until they are again profitable. If it makes you sleep better -- go ahead an buy one.

Not always just a Gm division thing. Seems it might also depend on year. Might also depend on trim. Might also depend on build date. My 2023 Denali 1500 only has buttons on the front doors. When standing ready to open rear door, I can easily tough the button on front door to unlock. Yes, extra arm motion, but no extra footsteps required. There have been lots of threads about this issue since the buttons started disappearing on some trucks.
