  1. I'd expect the DIC would indicate engine oil pressure is low and that the engine should be shut off. (This would so you can get to the shoulder of the road to stop)
  2. The SUV's (even 2024) are still using the LM2, while the pickups use the LZO. Another reason to wonder if perhaps 200,000 might be reasonable for all 3.0's
  3. The mats in my '23 fit like that. I don't think it's anything your dealer did.
  4. I would expect that GM's documents have changed the recommendation for the LM2 as well -- for the reasons @BigBadSierra posted. Perhaps @newdude can tell us for sure? Maybe also has info about best way to do the change?
  5. It would be the 40/20/40 split-bench wouldn't it?
  6. '23 manual shows the LH button. (with the big X thru the symbol) Maybe they both do it?
  7. 4H launch might work for you, but trying to shift transfer case from low to high at speed will end badly. I've been running nothing but GMC 4wd pickups since I switched to 4wd's in 1995. Every single one could only be shifted between Hi and Low coasting at creep speed or zero speed. As an example, I happen to have a pdf for the 2004 Hi-Lo shift instructions:
  8. I switch mine occasionally. (I use adaptive almost all the time) Adaptive cruise is optional on 2023 1500 RST. If you want to verify adaptive is installed, check the QR code on the truck, the option code (rpo code) is KSG Note 2 applies to 2023 RST 1500 It is the left button to switch modes. The switch between modes only takes a few seconds. (2 or 3?) I haven't tried, but presumably the cruise must be 'on' (RH button) for it to change modes. I never shut off (RH button) the cruise -- I just use LH button (or brake pedal) to 'pause' cruise operation.
  9. Titan has a replacement fuel tank for the 1500 duramax. 41 gallons, but it is available -- and alot cheaper https://titanfueltanks.com/7010519sd
  10. 3.0 for the win!
  11. Depends on how it's used. My last 6.2 got 19-20 on pretty much every tank
  12. Any will fit. AT4 and Denali have AT4/Denali logo Others may have GMC logo https://accessories.gmc.com/search?body=Crew Cab Pickup&bodyId=22&bodyNumDoors=5&bodyNumDoorsId=5&make=GMC&makeId=48&model=Sierra 3500 HD&modelId=6581&year=2024&categoryId=3074457345617041168
  13. Trailer sensors are not the same as truck sensors. Trailer sensors transmit temperature and pressure. Truck sensors for the refresh trucks use the same frequency as prior to refresh, but they are not interchangable. Truck sensors after refresh are 'auto learn' so the teach tool is not needed (except for duallies) 2021 truck wheel sensor
  14. They were on the app on my phone too, with update number, date installed and brief description of the change. They seem to be forever messing with the app (or something is wrong with how it is programmed. At the time of the updates, they showed up on phone app. Then, for about a month the phone wouldn't show the update history. As I'm typing, I just checked the phone again -- and it is again showing update info, like it was in early September. Press where it says 'vehicle status' on front screen. Scroll to bottom of page the comes up. Press where it says "Vehicle updates' - 'your vehicle is up to date' Next page also says 'Your vehicle is up to date' (presumably if it has downloaded and update, this is where it can be told to install the update? Press 'button' at bottom of that screen that says 'view install history' Mine lists the 4 installs that were done in August. Pressing on one of the updates gives a brief description of what was done. The headlight 'recall' is one of the ones listed for mine. It shows it was installed 25Aug2023
  15. The truck has a displayable record of the updates that you can check. (at least the recent ones) It's in the menus on the centre screen. I got the recall notice in the main a week or so ago. Checking the truck verified it was already done -- about 8 weeks ago. My truck had 4 different updates in about 10 days at the end of August. Two were on the same day. None since.
  16. No, you shouldn't have to drive it every day. Yes, sometimes new batteries are faulty or fail early. Yes, there could be a fault causing a parasitic drain above the 'normal' level. Is you battery tester a 'load tester' like what would be used at a battery shop or vehicle service place.
  17. There is no reason why the selling dealer has to be the one you use for service. The 'included' warranty oil changes can be done at any of them. (some dealers include extra oil changes above the GM ones, that likely aren't transferable) At most dealers (especially large ones) sales and service they are separate profit centers -- so the service folks would be happy for your business even if purchased somewhere else. Long story (which I'll skip), but for several years and several vehicle purchases in a row, I've been unable to close a purchase with the dealer that I've been using for most service work.
  18. Of course. And the info on the tire is max pressure and load for the tire, not for the vehicle it is installed on.
  19. You can have both today too. It's standard on all but WT, and it can be added to WT. Camera provisions replace the 4 pin. 2024 1500 Silverado
  20. How did we ever survive when we had to unlock with a key??
  21. If it has the camera inputs you will need one if you have trailers that use 4 pin. Camera inputs are in the flat connector location. I have use both a 7 round to 4 flat and a 7 round to 5 flat. I think mine are from Curt
  22. 1500 3 transmissions 3 different oils
  23. Me 3.... I check because if it's a half quart low and I'm still a long way from doing an oil change, then I'm likely gonna add some. I always figured the oil oil light was for in the event of a catastrophic failure (external oil line or oil filter) that is dumping the oil. (and I've assumed it comes on at a level well below the add mark on the stick) Kinda / sorta like the low oil pressure light. I don't think either is to indicate routine maintenance is required -- but to indicate that immediate attention is required. Back to the original question -- how do you know they added the correct amount? Some engines take a long time to drain back enough to get an accurate level. I always do a cold check the morning after a service. 1) GM pickups don't all use the same amount of oil. Could lead to over or under full. 2) If oil dropped when engine cool/cold, then it might not have been left long enough to get a full drain. Cold check is the only way to get an accurate determination if the level is changing, so a cold check establishes the starting level. IMO, checking when hot, like at fuel fill, only indicates that it hasn't lost a huge amount. Be cautious if adding oil because of a hot check. I've had more trouble with number 2 -- oil level is to high (on a 6.6 duramax, that takes 10 qts) I'd rather be a little on the low side that over filled. Foamed oil is not your friend.
  24. You may be holding the turn signal stick for to much time. Needs to be less than one second to activate the 3 blinks (or 6 blinks if in tow/haul)
