  1. Several years ago I had the Pedal Commander (PC) installed for about 2 months and it was great at first. Untitil one day while driving I had a ton warnings pop up and the truck went into limp mode. Thankfully I was close to work when it happened and not on the highway. I removed the battey cable and disconnected the PC and I've never had that problem again. Maybe it was a onetime thing, but I wasn't going to risk to it happening again.
  2. So either you ordered the wrong UCAs or the company sent the wrong ones. I would contact the company and see if they can send you the correct UCAs or replacement ball joints that can be pressed in. What UCAs did you buy?
  3. I would have never thought about resetting the gages...lol.. Glad it worked.
  4. I'm not sure what the clearance difference is on your custom exhaust is compared to the stock one. I have a 5.3 w/ 8L90 and I was able to drop the pan without removing the exhaust. It a little bit of a fight, but I got it out.
  5. Has anyone tried new rear axles? I know for a fact that the circular mounting face of my rear axles are out of round. I'm not an engineer, but I'm thinking of it like this: when a wheel is out of balance, you have to add weights to counteract the heavy spots in the rim or tire. Well, wouldn't this be the same with the axels? If I can find my videos, I will upload them to show you what I’m talking about. In the meantime, the picture below will give you an idea. What are other thoughts about this possibly being a contributor to the vibration issues?
  6. Nice looking truck! I've had the Eibach Pros in my garage for about a year now... just haven't had time to install them yet. How do you like them? How bad was the ball joint angle after the install? I was under the impression the angles would be acceptable as long as the lift wasn't above 2.5". In the end, I will be changing my UCAs; the biggest issue is finding ones that will work with the factory 20x9 rims. I really don't want to buy ones..lol.
  7. The bumper cover looks great! It is a huge improvement over the plasti dip.
  8. I've been eyeballing these head units for quite some time, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I will be watching this thread.
  9. If you get one, please post some pics.
  10. What size rims do you have? I'm asking because my truck has the factory 20-inch rims, while my buddy's truck has 18-inch rims. The difference in ride quality between the two is noticeable.
  11. What did you replace them with? "Spurs Up"
  12. It’s really frustrating not having a dipstick. What the hell was GM thinking!? I have the 8L90 which also doesn't have a dipstick, so draining and filling the transmission is quite a hassle. I bought the pump shown below from Amazon, and it made the process of draining and refilling the transmission much easier and far less messy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N7YV5GN?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1
  13. I used this kit -> https://sdparts.com/i-24138746-l83-dod-afm-delete-kit-for-2014-2018-gen-v-5-3-engines.html. and the Diablo i3 to turn off the DoD in the ECM. I also replaced: - Intake gaskets - Valve cover gaskets - VLOM gasket - Plugs - Wires - All Belts I hope this helps.
  14. Glad you got it figured out.
  15. Out of ease, I've been taking my truck to the dealership for the oil changes. Since my 5.3 (with DoD deleted) has 113,000 miles on it. I would like to know if it's better for the engine to change my oil using Amsoil or Mobil 1, or if I should continue taking it to the dealership for oil changes. Thoughts?
  16. Over the past few weeks, I've noticed voltage fluctuations on the instrument volt meter. I replaced the battery 2 weeks ago, which reduced fluctuations, but it still wasn't normal. This past weekend, the volt meter dropped just below 10 volts while driving. Thankfully it didn't leave me stranded on the side of the road.
  17. This weekend, my alternator decided to take ******. This was one of the easiest alternator replacements I've done. What I couldn't believe it was $526.36 (with a discount applied)!! I know I'm getting old, but what happened to the days of them costing $$175- 250? I will add that I bought it from the dealership. The local part stores were a little cheaper, but they were remanufactured. So, in the end, I did pay $20-30 more going to the dealership, but it was what it is.
  18. I'm all about doing mods that will extend the life of my truck and the PPE pan was on my radar a couple of months ago. The prices weren't too bad; my only question is how much lower their deep pan is than the OEM?
  19. That looks great. It's crazy how removing one of the hooks is such a PITA .
  20. Damn, that sucks you're out $400, but at least you know what the problem was. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly with the installation of the new cam.
  21. I know this isn't the same truck, but I had a similar experience with my older Toyota V-6 w/ 5 speed. After I was done with the SAS and went from 33s to 35s, I found myself downshifting a lot more. I went from 4.56s to 4.88s; the difference was night and day.
  22. I bought one from ATJ about 4 years ago and have ZERO regrets. https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/online-store/V1-Fob-Case-c148197312
  23. I bought one of these for my 2017. It was a HUGE improvement over the OEM camera. I'm sure they have one for the 2014. https://www.camerasource.com/automotive-backup-cameras/gm-backup-cameras/2016-2018-sierra-silverado-hd-replacement-camera-cs-gmtrmod-16?make_filter=6012&model_filter=6204&year_filter=6283
  24. I have a 2017 and didn't like how the wireless charger worked on some phones but not others. I bought a replacement wireless charger from Boost Auto. I mention this because it has a new wiring harness and works WAY better than the OEM charger. I hope this helps. https://boostautoparts.com/collections/gm-wireless-charging-pads?srsltid=AfmBOorovKh-yv9kWNXQMMSbGRT4xSbF7zBx-rA8obsYqaq1JVrEX6my&year=2017&make=GMC&model=Sierra 1500
