  1. Some more than others it seems and I'm starting to see a pattern.
  2. It's a common 8 speed transmission complaint (among many). The only thing that smoothed mine out was slowing down more gently (slower) than I normally would right before the 2-1 downshift to prevent the clunk/jerk. Sometimes its just random without a rhyme or reason. I don't think you will find a fix for it.
  3. I ended up selling off the truck for a 10k profit and have a 4Runner TRD Off Road now. But it held up just fine for the 3 or so weeks I drove it after applying the grease. I did get under the hood and sprayed it one more time after my post for good measure, I jammed the boot back against the firewall and applied a bunch before letting go.... but the obnoxious creaking hadn't come back. The service guy agreed with my idea that it was the boot but didn't offer a fix since they had new trucks on the lot that creaked also. He lives around town, if I see him I plan to pass on the info.
  4. Bump
  5. Bump. $135 shipped.
  6. It disables it for the same reason it disables DFM. It makes the computer believe there is a load on the engine. Taken from the overview features on Ranges’s website: “ Also disables Auto Start/Stop.”
  7. Hahaha that actually made me laugh when I looked it up. I love dad jokes
  8. Sorry for the slow reply, never got an email notice of the post. Yes it will disable both. The light for auto stop will still be on but it won't do anything.
  9. Purchased new from Range about 3 months ago, zero issues, works as it should. Sold off the truck today for a fat profit so I no longer need it. $135 shipped within the US 48 - payment is paypal. I lost the box.... so I'm sorry about that if you wanted it.
  10. Yep, the basics. I mod everything I buy but I'm not super brave so I'd never do the front shocks.
  11. Thanks a bunch, putting my order in.
  12. I feel like your the right guy to ask these questions lol. If I only did the rear, will it end up feeling like a Pogo stick? Like .... the front will bounce but the rear will be stable? Or does it give the whole vehicle more balance? Thanks a bunch Edit. Meant rear. If I only did the rear shocks. Accidentally said front.
  13. Do you notice a difference on the highway, turning etc ? Or just the hop on bumpy roads?
  14. Do the fronts take the old boat bounce out of the front? I'm so temped to do the rears because of how easy it is but I'm not sure if it will be enough to notice a real difference. We only have 1 shop around to do the fronts and I'll have to go sit and wait, so I'm weighing my options haha.
  15. Rough Country HD2. Way better quality than I expected for $350+tax & free shipping.
  16. This^ Never understood why someone would jack up a truck like that and then put huge rubber bands on the wheels. Saw one just like it and said the same thing to the wife a couple days ago while hauling tree limbs to the canyon.
  17. Oh dang didn't even notice your sig haha. To be fair because I meant no insult, I test drove 2 TRD Off Roads that had the large tread tires. They both had steering wheel shakes on the highway and alignments so off it pulled like someone hit a curb at speed. Both had less than 20 miles on them. There were other little things I could get over like being super outdated and feeling crazy top heavy in turns (even for a truck.) But the shakes was a deal breaker, I had to dump a 2019 Tacoma because it shook and no one could fix it (3 sets of tires, half a dozen alignments, a dozen balances, 2 dealers) same with 2 other folks I know so I wasn't about to go through it again. Those shaky Tundra's will probably run 300k or more but I can't take it. I know they don't all do it but I couldn't keep up my search for a non shaker with whats available right now. I posted about it on the Tundra forums and it seemed too common to keep looking. I don't trust Chevy or American vehicles in general but Chevy trucks tick all my boxes and have always drove like a Cadillac. My vehicle at work is a 2006 single cab. Plus ya know.... country songs sing about them lol. The older I get, I really want something I can hold on to and rack up the miles on, so I'll build equity until the Japanese release something new.
  18. Here's to hoping for better everything lol. I test drove 2 before purchasing another Silverado and hated them. I trust them to run forever just like I do Honda so I'm hoping it ends up being something great. If Honda made a truck I would never purchase anything else, it's probably the only brand I kind of fanboy towards but the Ridgeline is a mini van with a tiny bed instead of a roof. I started drinking after I saw the current gen refresh of it.
  19. I've read that somewhere as well. Side question: Has anyone with the Range disable had the auto stop engage once in a while when driving? It's happened twice recently after starting the truck and coming to my first stop sign. Doesn't do it any after that.
  20. Oh ok gotcha, I understand.
  21. I got 21mpg with my 2018 5.3L and 20mpg with my 2020 5.3L. 18-19mpg with DFM & auto stop/start disabled.... shrug.... Also, it costs you $100 to fill up your truck? Do you live in California? At the price of premium around here it would cost maybe $60 at most. You also say the 5.3 is no different than Fords 5.0, Ram 5.7 and basically the 6.2 ??? Is there a modern V8 you've driven and do like? It sounds like you just really want something new and different from everything else out there right now. Personally I'm trying to hold out for the next Tundra.
  22. Dang that's fast, reply back with how you like them. I'm thinking about it too.
  23. Is this seriously legit? The MSRP on my truck was 46-47k and they offered me 41k...... Even Chevy's minimum discount is 5k without any dealer discount considered so someone could buy a new one of my trucks for 41k or less. I don't get it. Even Givemethevin's offer of 37-38k seemed crazy but it was more believable. Like here is a new truck similar to mine with 10k off and a selling price of 38k https://www.holidaychevy.net/VehicleDetails/new-2020-Chevrolet-Silverado_1500-Crew_Cab_Short_Box_2_Wheel_Drive_RST-Whitesboro-TX/4605070803 Edit: Well the local Toyota dealer offered 38k for trade / purchase value. I guess this stuff is legit, just doesn't make any sense.... PEOPLE CAN GO BUY THIS TRUCK FOR LESS THAN PLACES ARE WILLING TO GIVE ME IN TRADE!!????? Why??????
