No sound from music or radio
tenscourts replied to 175vTrailbossLT's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
Probably irrelevant to everyone else's issue but I had the same problem with my new 2022 Tahoe and it was self inflicted. I added the boost auto wireless charger because the factory one sucks. While I was doing it I unplugged the factory wireless charger intentionally and left it unplugged intentionally. The next day no audio at all just as everyone else describes. I figured no way anything I did caused it and it seems to be well documented that it's an issue but after a lot of troubleshooting I figured what the heck and plugged the wireless charger back in. Wa La! Sound! So if anyone has messed with the wireless charger or yours has possibly failed may be something to look into. Why on earth this matters I have no idea but it does. -
4" BDS lift with OEM 20" wheel
tenscourts replied to RickDangle's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Forgot to mention stock front track is 1.5 inches wider than rear (.75 per. Side). With the lift it's. 2.25 per side hence the 2 inch rear spacers. I should be within a quarter of an inch per side of flush. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/192614-Tenscourts'-2016-LTZ/Z71-CCSB-4WD-Silverado -
4" BDS lift with OEM 20" wheel
tenscourts replied to RickDangle's topic in Modifications & Accessories
This came directly from BDS... "The 20”x 9” wheel with a positive 27 offset will fit you truck with no interference issues. However, I would caution you if running a 12.5” wide tire to confirm clearances. This kit will increase you total over all front track width by 3.0” or 1.5” per side." Based on this info I used 2 inch Bora spacers in the rear and added flares because I hate the look of the tires poking out. Based on my current experience with the 295/60/20's I'm switching to 285/65/20 soon. I have stock wheels (replicas) on 4 inch bds lift with 295/60/20 and it slightly touches uca at full lock. I don't see a 12.5 wide clearing. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/192614-Tenscourts'-2016-LTZ/Z71-CCSB-4WD-Silverado -

I had to change mine. The OE drain plug hit the diff when I had a truetrac put in. B&M offers the rounded design Banks talks about and a little more fluid capacity. Also the magnet to catch debris is at the bottom instead of on the fill plug at the top on the OE cover. I submitted my request August 10th and got my files back on September 21st. I have no idea how long the wait is right now. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/192614-Tenscourts'-2016-LTZ/Z71-CCSB-4WD-Silverado

I posted a link to a thread I started previously up above. BBP posted and said sending emails didn't affect your spot in the to do list. It only affected how quickly they answered your email if you send additional information or questions. They did acknowledge the lon wait times. What have you done to your K2 today?
tenscourts replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Been a while. I think I've added tow mirrors, Detroit Truetrac rear differential, and 4.10 gears since the last time I was posting much. Oh and the B&M diff cover. I've never been told that. I have an email thread going back to June 2017 when I first bought the AutoCal. When I need an update I just reply to the thread. I'll call Monday. I went searching and found the post. It was from may of 2019 and the person said he moved out of state and was no longer there. I had to re-read it a couple times but it doesn't say he left the company. It just says he isn't physically there anymore so I guess I misunderstood the post. My initial email this time around was very friendly. I told them I was having my truck regeared the following week and needed an update. They told me the wait was 20+ business days. The shop doing the work advised against driving the truck without an updated tune so I was pretty disappointed to hear how long the wait was. BBP said I could drive it without the update but my ABS lights etc. would come on. Due to covid-19 the gears were delayed so my re-gear turned into three weeks instead of the following week but I still hadn't heard back from BBP about my tune so the shop had me take my truck back to stock then loaned me a hypertech max energy 2.0 to adjust for tires and gearing until I get my updated tune back from BBP. I have a very long story about how I had a detroit TrueTrac installed 3 months ago and had a weird noise afterwards which led to every single bearing, ABS ring, and ultimately the ring and pinion being replaced in the rear housing. When we decided to change the ring and pinion I went straight for the 4.10 because of my lift and tires. If I was going to spend the money I might as well get a better ratio. So now the rear is 4.10 and the front is still 3.42 which means I can't use 4x4 and I'm not willing to cough up the money to regear the front until I'm certain the rear end issue is resolved. I'm not willing to say the rear end issue is resolved until I get my updated tune with the correct shift points. It's a vicious cycle. And if anyone is wondering why the tune matters in relation to the noise it's because the noise occurs when I'm coasting. Without an updated TCM I'm almost never under a free coast because the transmission isn't shifting properly so the resistance from being in the wrong gear means I can't honestly say the rear end issue is resolved. I've got a good 500 miles on the new gears but without the update I'm still not comfortable saying it's resolved and dropping the money to re-gear the front... So after all that to be told I'm still 67 on the list after a month of waiting is frustrating then seeing the first response I got in this thread from the person who has been waiting since July makes me even more frustrated. The noise isn't BBP's issue but finding out the 20+ day estimate they gave me is not even close to being accurate is irritating. When I emailed after a month to see if there was an ETA I was told no and they had 116 on their to do list. They didn't bother to tell me where I was on the list which seems like a logical piece of information to provide so I replied and asked and was told I was currently 67. I have no idea how long the list was when I got on it. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk. When did you request yours to get it back in a couple weeks. My frustration is being told 20+ business days and now hearing after a month I'm still 67 on the list. I'm not even providing logs at this point. I just wanted adjustments for my new gears. I had planned to get logs after that adjustment and request another update. Sounds like I wouldn't get that update till the end of the year if not next. I'm not trying to bash them. Previous experience has been great but all my correspondence was with Justin. I read somewhere that he left and that has me worried what future customer service will be like. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk. That's depressing... My truck was just regeared from 3.42 to 4.10. The shop that did the work loaned me a hypertech for the speedometer but my shift points are horrible. Had no idea it would take this long to get an update. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk. Requested an update to my Black Bear Tune on August 10. I was told it was 20+ business days to get back. Today I'm still 67 on their to do list. Anybody else waiting or recently got a tune updated. I've got a 2016 with 98k on it. Been having issues after putting in a TrueTrac recently. This isn't the problem but one thing we discovered is my pinion bearings were destroyed. The outer bearing fell completely apart when it was removed. This means I had no preload on my pinion bearings and I suspect this damaged my ring and pinion which we are about to replace. The crush sleeve had to be over tightened from the factory as ive never had any work done on the rear end until now. If you have access to a chassis ear you should listen to see if you hear the clunk at other times when you can't hear it via your ear. You may discover the clunk is more frequent than you think as mine was. Mine is constant whenever I'm coasting at any speed but couldn't be heard by the naked ear except around 20-35mph. Hope this makes sense. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk. My build thread: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/192614-Tenscourts'-2016-LTZ/Z71-CCSB-4WD-Silverado

The shop I use recommended not changing those fluids till 100K. Just had mine done as well as wires and plugs at 97500 since that's my regular oil change interval. BBP Tune and Octane Choice
tenscourts replied to xSHIFTxNASTYx's topic in Modifications & Accessories
I was told by BBP as well as the shop that did my lift never to run 87 in these trucks as the engine compression was too high. BBP also told me to expect the best fuel mileage from 89. I was running 89 but not that I'm working from home and not driving as much I'm going back to premium. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk. They also gave us a wireless charger that hardly fits any phone made in the last 4 years and no AA or CP wireless support. I realize what the ridges are for. If you read my build thread you'll see I made a custom mount with the USB C connector extending up through the ridges to basically dock my phone every time I got in but ultimately it wasn't stable enough. I found even placing my phone on its side to be cumbersome and to use the phone required disconnecting if you used a short cable which kills AA or CP. With the mount I get the best of both worlds. Easy access to the phone and AA. Again, I don't disagree about using AA and CP but the person asked for mount recommendations and I don't agree that using AA or CP eliminates the need for a mount not to mention the hundreds to thousand plus dollars it would cost them to get a new HMI programmed just to get to the point of having AA and CP as an option. I have a 2016 with Android Auto and I use it religiously. I have a Proclip USA center console mount on the driver's side with a short USB C cable. Every time I get in I drop my phone in the mount and connect the cord. Everything is neat and in its place and at a fingers touch if I need something beyond what AA offers. So I agree that AA and CP are great but I don't think they negate the need for a mount. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk.
