  1. I have the 'built in' nav also on my 2017. It sucks. And yes, it does NOT require Wifi. I prefer to use CarPlay and apple maps for navigation. You should check out the 'shop' app that you have. It will allow you to install the weather channel, pandora radio, and some other apps directly onto the audio system. These apps however DO require wifi either from the truck itself (i have the $20/month unlimited plan), or by using your phone as a hot spot. Check out this tutorial regarding the 'shop' app. They have added more apps since this video was made, so be sure to check it out!!
  2. What did the lift installer say? Start there.
  3. Just out of curiosity, what does an OEM condenser cost?
  4. The 2015's have a 100K powertrain warranty, yes?
  5. Ha ha.. We'll see how it goes.. Nope.. I keep them 10 years! No problem reaching 10 years/180k with my last two trucks, Ford and Toyota. The original post states 'jerking, surges, sudden acceleration, etc on 2017's.. They state 2017 are most problematic whereas 2016 were least problematic. How can that be? Same truck! except for perhaps software mapping. If my Silverado turns into a turd, I will have no problem dumping it and changing brand. I have ZERO brand loyalty (except for Volvo cars). So far so good.
  6. I don't know that I'd start cutting the shutter motor out and gluing stuff on a brand new truck, but that's just me. Some folks have done it. Once they got past the several CEL's they were fine... For now. There must be some alternatives to messing with the shutter system, no?
  7. I have a 2017 1500 LT DC.. 16k miles. ZERO problems so far. ZERO recalls too.
  8. I bought one for my 2017. Ya, It’s a piece of junk. Tough to unlock and get off. It now sits in my bench storage compartment. I was just wondering if something changed between the 2017’s and 2018’s after I read that post. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Are they different? Capless started with the 2017, I’d assume 2018’s are identical, no? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That is not right and should definitely be remedied by GM! While today's vehicles are probably better than ever as far as fit and finish are concerned, some bad alignments will slip through. When I was a kid back in the 60's,70's, I would always go with the old man when he bought himself or Mom a new car. Always a big old Chrysler Town and Country wagon for Mom, or a big old Mercury Colony Park wagon for himself. Way back then, I was probably between the ages of 8-13, he taught to inspect the body panels and hood for proper alignment/spacing. That stuck with me my whole life for some reason. Every time I've bought a new vehicle since those days, I always think of Dad when I inspect the body panels. Weird how some stuff sticks in memory for life! LOL!
  11. Could be wiper wash fluid getting past the cowling? Have you ever noticed water blowing out from the fan during a bad rain storm? I had a problem with my 2008 Toyota where water was getting past the windshield cowling into the blower motor. Safe-lite half ass'd the re- installation of the cowling trim after putting new glass in. IT caused a leak. Have you had the windshield replaced?
  12. I have to agree. I have a 2017 LT DC midnight edition with Bose. It's just ok. Not great. My wife's factory Volvo system blows my Bose away for sound and clarity and it was standard on her Volvo.
  13. Yup.. people see these videos then run out their truck with a water bottle. If they see the water vibrate they say "I have a problem!", even if they didn't notice anything prior to seeing the 'water bottle test' videos.
  14. Nice Jay flight there too! I have the 38FDDS!
  15. Nice. I’m just going to go without for now. After reading more and more about capless systems, I’m thinking it will be Ok. If I decide to go off road in a dusty dirty area, I’ll throw the cap on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. UPDATE: After buying the OEM cover on ebay a few months ago, I removed it after a few days. It was a PITA to put on and remove.
  17. 9 months into ownership and I haven't even tried the 110 outlet!
  18. Insurance? Here in Massachusetts we have zero deductible glass coverage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ugh.. wired, I’ll go from 75% to full charge on my 35 min commute home from work. It’s still a cool feature to have. I may consider it when I upgrade my my phone to an 8 or X. If CarPlay was wireless it’d be a no brainer, but since you have to plug in for CarPlay anyways, I don’t see the need in my circumstance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I agree. I have the io6 with Bose, factory NAV and CarPlay. In the 7 months I’ve owned the truck, I’ve rarely used the factory NAV. I always go to Apple maps, as I’m always connected to CarPlay when in the truck. If I had ordered the truck, I would have most likely skipped the factory NAV. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. 1/2 acre? I’d go one of the high end Honda walk behind. $6/700 call it a day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. How’s the charge speed? Is it as fast as the wired charge? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. The fact that the iphone 8 an X came out AFTER the fact would protect GM from any liability I would think. By 11/3/17(apple 8 and x release), GM was producing the compatible 2018 models. The Qi standard may have changed for the 8 and X support. You would think that GM would do the right thing and upgrade the pad to the compatible newer one under a TSB or something, but we all know that probably isn't going to happen.
  24. I actually bought new Toyota Tacoma OEM floor mats after the stuck pedal fiasco. They weren’t liners, but rubber all weather mats. While they had all kinds of warnings imprinted on them regarding not putting other mats on top or underneath them, they still covered under the gas pedal.
  25. If you have a center console with Bose, you should have the sub mounted in the console I believe. My bose truck has the bench seat, therefore no sub.
