  1. Took me awhile to decipher what it was suppose to say. For the longest time the only thing I could come up with was deserter Vietnam and wondered why you wanted to flaunt that.
  2. Using up some more carbon vinyl... Goes well with the b-pillars and mirror caps also wrapped. Without the lettering cut out. All done. Those letters took a significant amount of time to cut out... And some pictures without the plate since I haven't seen anyone post it before.
  3. Wrapped the other side gonna rock it for a couple weeks see if the carbon pillars grow on me. Also gave it long overdue wash.
  4. well quickly wrapped the B-pillars on the one side to see how it looks. Whats everyone's opinion.
  5. I'm still a bit unclear exactly how they work. the only video I find of them is on their site which shows like 21 different flash patterns. Are they like other real emergency light sticks (traffic advisors) where they have separate wires to enable the modes? Or is it more like the cheaper ebay emergency lights where its basically one switch turns it on and the other switch cycles through the different patterns with no easy way to jump to certain modes? You say yours come on with the park lights, I'm assuming that they just come on steady amber. What do your other 2 switches do when you push them?
  6. Thanks for the feedback. I didn't bother pulling it into the garage to remove the caps which ended up being a mistake as i broke one of the clips. In a bit of a cold snap and it was -21°c, the caps had a sheet of ice on them that I had to throw them in the sink of warm water to melt it all off. There is no way you could of wrapped them outside the vinyl would be way to brittle and would just end up ripping. Thinking I may do the B- pillars next just to get some more carbon on the outside. Also considering doing the side plates on my sports bar.
  7. Using up some more vinyl.
  8. Slow Friday so covered the mirror caps with vinyl.
  9. Really liking those cab lights, your the first guy i've seen with those ones.. Did you install them yourself? Seem to have quite a few functions, Whats the wiring look like? Only video I've found about them is the one on their website showing some flash patterns.
  10. I'm surprised how few options there are for ditch lights. I'm only aware of the ZRoads Hood Hinge kit and SDHQ cowl mount ones. Both are almost 200$ without lights. I ended up snagging a set of universal hood mounts on amazon for 12$ for the pair. Had not seen anyone use them before so I gave them a try and they worked very well. Lot more pics over on my build thread.
  11. That's basically exactly how I installed mine. Been running with it for well over a year with no issues. Even have the same 3 loads, Front Lights, ditch lights, and rock lights. I took it one step further and used the 4th switch to turn on the front , and ditch lights with the high beam when the aux button is activated. To accomplish this I had to use a 5th relay. Schematic of mine.
  12. Bumping this thread as its probably my next mod. Anyone know if 1.25" spacers work on the stock 20" black 5 Spokes. Enough clearance to not have to trim the studs? No rubbing at full lock?
  13. Ditch lights arrived today and just finished installing them. Lights were 26$ for the pair and the brackets I snagged for 12$ Lights were advertised as 20W each, measured them pulling 14.1W that like all other LEDs I've tested stays constant power sweeping voltage from 11V to 14.8V Due to constant current drivers used. Seems to be pretty common with LED bars that they advertise the max W of the chipset used and not the actual power. That Clearance I was originally torn on if I should mount them on the sides or the back of the hood, but just decided to go with them mounted on the back side. I took some comparison pics of both, so may as well post them. Side Back Side Back Side Back Side Back

  15. Since you have so many switches available and need to turn off the lights fast, why not use one as a master switch that works off the highbeams stalk? I've got mine hooked up this way, and the only time I've needed to control the lights individually was once in fog when the roof lights were detrimental due to the glare but the low mounted bumper bar was still useful. What lights do you have going to the switches currently? Are the switches controlling relays or are the light bars hooked up directly to the switches? I used the factory upfitter switch that gives 4 additional aux switches but I wish I had one more as I'm adding a set of ditch lights. As it sits now I have mine configured Aux1 - all lights on with highbeams Aux2- Bumper lights Aux3- Roof Lights Aux4- Rock Lights
  16. Gave window tinting a shot a for the first time and did the front windows. Used 20% to try and match the rear but I think the stock tint is slightly lighter. Letting it camp out and dry in the garage since its like -10°c outside.
  17. Rock lights project is finished
  18. Even though I just put a new tip on the truck 4 days ago I changed it out to this slightly bigger one. Original 3.5" Flat Black 4.25" Black Chrome 3.5" 4.25" And I wrapped the exhaust pipe that's visible from the rear of the truck and through the wheel well with some Black Wrap.
  19. Installed husky rear wheel liners. Not to noticeable on a black truck but served as a spot to mount rock lights without having to drill into the box. Before After
  20. I didn't even know the HD's could be optioned with one. I think they look ok on a black truck any other color they look very out of place. I also think they need the longer bed to really fit in. Blind spot it creates is pretty brutal though. Hope they hooked your 3rd brake light back up since its disabled on trucks that came with the bar from the factory. Great place for a couple spot lights though.
  21. I have a work truck front bumper on mine and even that has gotten a lot of chips in it in only 1 year. I can pressure wash them though without it flaking off. I had full intentions of getting my hood and fenders wrapped in 3M but I drove 6hours to bring my truck back when I bought it and when I got home I already had a decent chip on the front of the hood so I didn't end up getting it done as its significantly more than 1k here to get a full wrap done where I live. They also recommend you wait at least a couple weeks before applying vinyl over new paint.
  22. Got a Chinese vendor to send me a couple sets of these(free) that I'm gonna try out. I like how they look as there pretty low profile. Its got 6D optic which should work good for my application. I already have a 20" 90W in the bull bar on the front of my truck and 2x 72W 12" on the sport bar so I have no shortage of forward facing white lights. I plan on having these canted 30°-40° which should light up ditches better. As for control My first mod to the truck was installing the factory upfitter switches. As it sits now I have it set so Sw1- makes all the lights come on with the highbeams. (an absolute must) SW2- Flood light (bull bar) SW3- Spot lights (sport bar mounted) SW4- Rock lights. But with the new set of lights I don't really need the different lights on separate switches so I'm probably going to go with SW1- highbeam overide SW2- Forward facing white SW3- (spare) maybe add some rear facing lights. SW4- Rock lights I'm not a very big fan of the homelink accesory modules. You have to use 2 buttons one for on and one to turn them off. There is also a slight delay and you don't get a indicator light like the upfitter switches have.(although you really shouldn't need a indicator light for forward facing white lights...) Even though I only put my new exhaust tip on 2 days ago I thought it was a little small at only 3.5" so I ordered this guy which is 4.25" And also ordered 50Ft of JET black exhaust wrap to cover the ugly factory exhaust pipe that's visible. ( its usually used on motorbike exhaust and headers but I think it will look good on the back of the truck.
  23. The mounts in the pictures you quoted are the Zroadz LED. Not my truck, I can't see forking over 180$us+shipping for mounts. https://www.zroadz.com/product/zroadz_z361221_hood_hinges_bracket_mounts_2015_2018_chevy_silverado_25003500_gmc_sierra The ones I bought are just universal mounts SKTYANTS part# X001SF0L33 although now im seeing them all over the place amazon/ebay/aliexpress ranging from 10-30$ for a pair. I did'nt know if they would work on the silverado's but at under 20$ it was worth ordering and checking out. Wanted to see if they would even work and just ordered some lights now that I know they will. https://www.amazon.com/lightronic-Universal-Bracket-Stainless-Offroad/dp/B073VK4FNG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1544579620&sr=8-3&keywords=hood+mount
  24. There most commonly used to install "Ditch Lights" but could be used for CB antenna, whip markers, or even to mount a full size lightbar between a pair of them.
