  1. Just bite the bullet and dump it! Chevy screwed me and the rest of you. Today I was buying some beers and about to leave and the Raptor started raising hell beeping and such. There was a car a good 30 feet coming towards me. The system actually works! If it were the Chevy, they would have to be directly behind you before it told you. It reminds me of the old Nissan’s they called Datsun. They got the message years ago because very few bought the crap
  2. Dump the truck fast, when all these issues get out, your value will be nothing.
  3. Ring and piñon gear in the front.
  4. Are you sure that noise you describe is not the chain from the junk yard dog? Lol just kidding
  5. I gave up fighting with GM. The have covered up almost all the issues with software. None of the systems work very well now. Can’t lemon law them easily as there is nothing that says how well lane assist, park assist, trailer connections etc... works. How fast is it supposed to boot up? Cost me a few bucks to get rid of the 19 Chevy for the 19 raptor, but no more head aches.
  6. Anybody make a kit for the 6.2 besides GM’s ridiculously priced unit?
  7. Mine enables every time the auto stop goes off, when I stop on any hill. Most mornings in the garage it’s on until I touch the gas peddle. It’s actually a neat feature once your learn how and when it works. I can fully understand it jacking up tho, seems Chevy has a lot of bugs in the programming.
  8. Shock damping will greatly improve (reduce) trailer sway, but will not adjust ride height. If you trailer tongue height and hitch height are correct, when the suspension compressed past center or raise above center, it slightly accelerates the trailer making sway worse. Stiffer shocks slow the process increasing stability. I would get the part number off the rear springs and have the dealer check them. As someone mentioned above, ensure your hitch is the correct height. If you are using the same hitch as the Suburban then that may be part of the issue. That AT4 sits way higher.
  9. Denali 19, I have also had major issues with this. I noticed after the updates the cluster not only boots up way slower but also with incorrect settings. I noticed that if you go to the settings on the cluster, then to vehicle, then collision avoidance, then park assist, sometimes it loads, “on with tow bar” and will not go to the correct setting of on with Alert. You have to restart the truck and it boots up the correct settings. GM said they have no other trucks doing it. My service manager saw it with his own eyes. Please check and report it if yours boots funky at times so GM will look at it. I can start my truck, back out the garage and be heading down the road and the cluster is still loading. I think you will find lane keep assist will be almost useless if or when this slow response starts happening.
  10. Are you sure it’s not the auto park brake?Mine has similar traits. When backing out of the garage it is always on. Had a few burn out moments until I learned how to release it. It also activates when changing from R to D if I come to a complete stop and let my foot off the brake while on the slope of my driveway. The other day I backed out, remembered I needed water and ran and got it. All along the truck was in gear with auto park brake on. If you don’t release it before giving it the gas it will lurch. Almost feels like turbo lag.
  11. This is actually a great post. Very informative. Especially the section named Tips. It clearly shows how Chevy is putting the responsibility for it to work correctly on the consumer. Why would you come out with a new model year and the module will not work with LED bulbs? This is standard equipment on trailers and a very popular upgrade. It is understandable older trucks have issues with LED’s. Why not fix their design on a new model year to work with LED lights? No different than the dumb windshield washer button midway down the blinker switch handle and the auto headlights a push button on the end of it. Which do you use most. These new trucks look and run great so we have a great start if we can get Chevy to listen and fix the squirrelly software and electronic parts. They should have a “engineer meet your truck user day” and design to today’s standards and uses. Rain, snow, cold and mud, LED lights etc... Not the soccer mom.
  12. Mine truck also does this. It started after an update. Before the update it would go off like crazy after the wash for 30 min or so. Alerting all directions back and forth. My wifes new Terrain also shuts off. Not sure how to tell when it is working again.
  13. This is only to make some of the worst trucks drivable and eliminate some nuance alerts. The mild and intermittent short is still there. The original fix was to change the trailer module, then the plug and some wire harness. None of that worked. That admitted they new it was a short, they just can’t find it. The real concern should be long term damage on other electrical components and if it may cause critical failures. Most critical industrial equipment with electronic controls have ground fault indicators with shutdowns to protect the electronics and equipment from damage. I understand Chevy taking this cheap way around, they are risking a lot. Hopefully it is an intermittent step. I also think the fault will be found if not already. I just hope they have done all the risk analysis to prevent serious failures or possible injuries.
  14. So Roczcqg, your saying if the adjustment in the software fixes the alerts it’s ok? Let’s put this in perspective, you at abc tire to buy a set of awesome AT tires. The shop says, hey one of them had a leak and we patched it. Good as new, Are you ok with that or do you want a replacement? Or, your cruisen down the road haulin your Razr and family for a weekend in the hills and the trailer brake fuse blows cause GM never fixed the short in the system. You lost control and a family member in the accident. I wonder how you would feel about the software fix then.
  15. New dude, You must not have 70k tied up in a new truck. You sound like a dealer or GM employee. We are suppose to feel sorry for GM while we take massive losses on our trucks because they made mistakes and only cover them up with software? Fix the short and everyone will be happy........ I bet they know what the problem is by now and have decided to cover it up so buyers won’t know about the problem all due to cost of the real fix. They will make changes on new production or 2020’s. i really like my truck, but I want a reliable one that holds value. Fixing it is by far the best answer.
  16. What you have to keep in mind is they are not fixing the problem, they are covering it up with software so to don’t realize it’s still screwed up. PIT 5648B just covers it up. It sucks that they can get away with this. Just remember when it gets cold again, we have to band together for a class action because them lemon law Weill not apply after a year.
  17. That is BS, there is a update that is free and covered under warranty. I had mine done today. Mine had for some reason been working ok so I saw no difference. This update PIT 5648B is an update to the update PIT 5648A. The only difference is a bit of programming to ignore amperage on the trailering system.
  18. Nice, at least the frustrating part is covered. But read closely, they are NOT fixing the problem, they are covering it up. There is still a mild short to ground somewhere. Beware!
  19. According to the service rep, all the systems are related. Like I said above, they are de-sensitizing the systems. The rear sensors are part of the trailer stuff. I really just want what I paid for. I am afraid it is becoming common knowledge the trucks have electrical issues which will kill the value even more than the 11k in incentives they will offer in 6 months. Get the certified letter to them to preserve your rights. If there right, symptoms will going away this spring and summer but come back when it’s cold and wet.
  20. The fix is to de-sensitize all the systems. U will find park assist barely works, side detection and pedestrian alert is after the fact. Cross traffic alert should be re-named, “there already behind you alert”They are dragging their feet hoping warm weather clears things up and a year expires.
  21. If someone actually gets a fix, please post the info. I was told they are still working on it. First the thought it was the trailer connector, then wiring to it, video module. There is a very suspicious common ground running between systems. Has anyone’s side detection stopped working? Mine completely and they don’t know what is wrong. Think it is tied to the rest of the issues.
  22. I just got mine a few hrs ago. They had it a day and half. Forth trip to resolve. No fix yet. They said it is there top priority. I did get a nice wash.
  23. Mine was in the shop for what was supposed to be 4-5 hrs. Now a day or two. They now say the audio module behind the back seat needs replacement. It can cause many alerts. Also, there is a module mounted on the backside of the FREE-KIN bumper that has mud on it. That caused the side detection to fail! What we can’t get mud or water on our trucks? GM get off ur duff and move this!!! WOW! Proud of the dealer telling the truth.
