Never been a problem. The tap is sized correctly for the wire, snaps right on then a diode jumper between. Have nothing but good things to say about their products.
In my opinion the boost product is worth every penny. I installed one on my 16 and now on my 19. Much cleaner than just a diode jammed into the harness.
Share the details, I was intending to have a switch in factory location...obviously out of luck so far. I removed tails to tie into cargo but ran out of time. What color is reverse on the tails? TIA
Reverse on my truck is green with white tracer being a Z85 trailering package. Unfortunately this was not a good power source for auxiliary lighting because the truck has to sense(electrically) a trailer in tow to work. Next step I tied into the blue positive / black negative on the cargo lamps. This would allow the aux lights to flash 3 times then shut off all cargo lamps. My little project is much harder on this new truck then the last ones I have had.
Does anyone know the wire color of the 7 pin reverse/auxillary? It appears green with white stripe, black and a red with green stripe come from the center of the rear on harness.
Has anyone installed auxiliary reverse lights on their 19 yet? I usually wire some pods to the trailer wiring but I would like to utilize the cargo lamp button, not sure if this is possible so any input is greatly appreciated.
16 was a 5.3 with 6 speed slt premium package, over all no complaints. This one so far has been good, its another 5.3 with the 8 speed this time. Has a little over 4k miles on it now. My only complaint is the auto start/stop which I always try to disable before I start driving. Can't go wrong with the 6.2/10spd.
Traded my 16 in a little while back for a 19 AT4. 1.5" motofab, 275/65/20 Ko2, GM intake, flowmaster 40 series, lund window visors, 20% front tint and windshield brow, ronin stuby antenna, some more stuff to come.
Running a Flowmaster 40 series at the moment, not much louder than stock at idle and normal driving. Noticeable difference when wide open. Possibly taking the resonator baffles out next.
