  1. Hi all. Long story short, I wired up my CB and dashcam to an open fuse in the drivers-side fuse block, and fried the whole thing. (Really!) Cost me a good bit to get it replaced. The dealer said I was drawing too much to tap in to there, and I should go to the engine fuse block instead. I've tested all the open ones on my truck (an LT) and didn't find anything with power with the key on. Does anyone know if any of the full ones are safe to pull? Or how are other doing it? Thanks in advance!
  2. This sounds exactly like the ford instructions Also, how do we "turn the key to the on position"?
  3. Apologies if this has been asked, but I didnt find it in the search - How can I disable the seat belt reminder? On my F150 I was able to enable the accessory via the key, click it something like 8x, then turn the accessory off/back on, and it was disabled. Does Chevy offer a way to disable the chime? Before anyone thinks the worst of me, I wear my seatbelt all the time, however, sometimes I have heavy items in the passenger seat that sets it off. Thanks!
  4. It's been tempting. Carvana put me over what I paid, so I went and looked at a z71 colorado....but they still have keys (remember those?!) No push button start. I know, first world problems. I would have been a lot closer to pulling the trigger on trading in my LT 4x4 for that z71 if it weren't for that.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's 2, a high and a low: https://www.gmpartsonline.net/v-2019-chevrolet-silverado-1500--wt--5-3l-v8-gas/electrical--horn Someone said on another post that it's on the drivers side, but I'm not sure:
  6. Thanks - I think I'm going to go through the firewall, I don't know why but my bearcat fried that whole passenger side fuse block. It was fine w/my dashcam, but as soon as I hooked the CB up it was toast. Give me about a week, I'm going to get this installed sometime this week after work. I have a jump seat.
  7. @Limelightanother question for you - where did you tap in for power? I'm pretty trigger shy here, long story short, I had a uniden bearcat that I put on the accessory on the passenger side fuse box and fried the whole thing (the fuze box, not the CB). Cost me about $400 to replace (there's actually a board behind it) So I was going to connect under the engine hood, but also want it on switched power. Thanks in advance!
  8. Great, thanks - I put mine through one of the stakeholes, but I don't think it's getting a good ground. I have, but I've just been resting it on the transmission hump. I'm going to mount it on the bottom below the switches. I haven't done it yet, I'm trying to justify buying the president mckinley before putting hold in
  9. Looks real clean. How did you do the antenna, did you just drill a hole to match the diameter of the antenna mount? What part did you use, or do you have any pictures of the underneath? thanks!
  10. Try crutchfield, those advisors are really good. They also have a "guaranteed to fit" promise.
  11. I have a 2019 and haven't been able to get any album art or any logos on sirius. I've seen the new ones show sirius logos, but I guess us 2019 folks are out of luck?
  12. I also have the "flip up folding middle seat" (or whatever it's called). It was difficult to find, especially in leather, but I'm glad I got it. I like the extra leg room, and can put crap on the transmission hump between the passenger and myself. Now, if Chevy could just make a decent cup holder, ford does it right with the "remove for larger drink".
  13. Previous thread on this here: For me, having the max tow was more important since I wanted the ability to to more.
  14. I'm using a USB key. I still haven't been able to figure this out. The only way I know how to do this is to: Say "Play song Hotel California" Now I'm stuck on this single song. To get out of it, I press the "browse" button Select "songs" Click on any song (doesn't matter what) Now when pressing "next track" it'll go to a random song. Pretty weird there's not a "exit artist" or "single song" option. I think ford is "shuffle all"

  16. It was OTA, i don't have my truck connected to my home wifi, or have any sort of data play with onstar.
  17. From my understanding, not easily. In fact, almost impossible. Those are all ganged together somehow if I recall (I can't find the thread). Most people go with the "upfitter" switches:
  18. Not a great picture - but towing my 19' monterey open bow.
  19. Mine did this for the first time this week. I had gotten notice of the update the same day. I wonder if it was staying on to prompt me for the notice, but won't if the truck is off. It's only been a few days, but I haven't had it happen since I did the update. Might have been coincidence too.
  20. Under the hood is preferred, especially if you're drawing more amps. Does anyone have any info on where to tap under the hood? EDIT: Disregard, looks like spot 40 "MISC IGNITION" under the hood is where to go:
  21. I think it's a quick visual check, if it's this one: n202314670 Have a look at this, it has pictures to show what's going on: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2020/RCSB-20V792-3425.pdf
  22. Is the trailering capacity the same with the 2-speed transfer case? Technically, it would be more weight and have less towing no? Can you get it with a 9.76 rear axle?
  23. Did you get a proper fit, or are they like the other posters (including myself) on this forum, where there's a gap?
  24. So after doing some digging, I found out that the code says the wiring harness is loose. I inspected it, and the red tab is bent. Does anyone know the part number for the blue harness in the picture above? I'm afraid to see how much it costs, but I think that's my solution.
