  1. Not sure on the boat but i just measured from ground to top of the 2" ball when its in the lowest position and its 17". i highly recommend the hitch tho, love not having to worry about hitting the tailgate ever, or someone else forgetting/not knowing. Its spendy, like $350+ but worth it imo
  2. I'd go with the 8" drop. I got the B&W 7" drop hitch thats designed for these multipro tailgates. It's worked great for my trailers, touch high for my boat but not enough to go out and get another one.
  3. I'm not looking for album art, that i do have. I wanted the ability to setup notifications for artists and/or songs that are playing on other stations. From what i have gathered here it is simply an option that GM doesnt offer yet literally every other OEM does.
  4. I'd like to know where, I'm pretty techy and cannot figure it out. This new SiriusXM 360L is crap if you ask me. Something with Pandora buying XM and changing the interface. I already pay for Amazon music as well and am strongly considering cancelling XM altogether just because of this.
  5. Really bugs me this feature isn't available. Seems like GM is missing the boat with alot of the creature comforts the other OEM's offer
  6. I took the middle piece on the bottom completely off. Easier, doesn't expose anything vital really & no fears of losing functionality. The mount looks way close to the ground but was only about 1/2" low per Boss specs. I'm running a 9'2" v-plow
  7. Done for now, until fender flares and mud flaps come out. Leveled with keys, painted mirrors and visors, wheels and tires, truxedo lopro tonneau cover, led strip in grill, boss plow mount, putco bedrails & blade bar in rear, PPF front bumper, tinted windows & debadged tailgate.
  8. With the B&W I haven't had any issues with my 8.5 wide v-nose enclosed trailer. I am very careful to not crank it around tho too. my thought is if you jackknife it you either did something wrong, or shouldnt be where you are in the first place.

  10. My dot# is over 30 years old, Nothing happens automatically. In MN where I’m at we have the option to register as commercial or non-commercial. I registered as non-commercial since 98% of the time I’m not using it for business purposes that would qualify for DOT. I use the diesel to plow and pull my boat, 5th wheel or car hauler.
  11. @kfroese I did not put them on my truck. too much bs associated with it. my business is a trucking company so i have the numbers and all that if ever forced to put them on
  12. It's only going to become an issue if something happens. My business owns the truck and I have a DOT# but registered my truck as non-commercial in Minnesota. Still though, when i hookup to my 14k# flatbed trailer and go get a large part for work technically i would need those numbers. No one will bother me though........ until something happens.
  13. I stand corrected but not all 2.5" hitches are rated for 20k, nor are all balls, hitch pins etc. Take the popular B&W hitches for example, the 2.5" shank is only rated for 14,500#. You have to go up to the 3" shank to get to 20,000#. (just verified on their own website) goes to show just how convoluted all of this can be.

  15. That could be but check the weight rating of a 2-5/16" ball on your hitch. most are not rated for weights that high. its possible to get a 20,000# ball but you have to make sure everything is rated correctly. theres alot more moving parts than one thinks.
  16. remember too, despite the advertised conventional towing capacity of these trucks, the 2.5" receiver is only rated for 14,500# i believe. to get the advertised tow #'s you need a 3" receiver on the truck.

GVWR = Gross Vehicle Weight Rating this is the weight rating of your piece of equipment (i.e. truck or trailer) GCWR = Gross Combined Weight Rating this is the combined gross weight rating of truck and trailer together So if your truck has a GVWR of 10,000# and your trailer has a GVWR or 14,000# then your GCWR is 24,000#. Think of it as a speed limit for weight. You can be under but get in trouble for going over.
  18. If a business truck by itself has a weight rating of 26,001 then yes it needs dot #'s and the driver needs a CDL regardless if you have a trailer on it or not and regardless of capability. its all about the Gross Weight Ratings, either alone or combined when applicable.
  19. DOT certified inspector here, not a police officer, i own an OTR trucking company and personally do annual inspections on semi trucks and trailers to ensure they are road worthy. If a pickup and trailer in combo has a GCWR over 26,000 you technically need a CDL and dot#'s IF AND ONLY IF ITS FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES. If its personal use i am nearly certain NO state requires anything special, its when it falls under business use that it becomes an issue.

  21. Lucky on the switches, I ended up having to do mine myself as my dealer didnt feel confident in his mechanics abilities. I understand good help is hard to find but REALLY!?!?!

  23. Looks really good. I’m surprised the tires aren’t poking out more though. I have same size wheel but kept factory size tire (I’m running Terra Grapplers now too). Can’t wait for bushwhacker or whoever to come out with a fender flare to help keep the road splatter down.
  24. I just traded a 2017 F250 Platinum for a 2020 GMC 3500 AT4. Ford really had their tech figured out, I am disappointed in these shortfalls. No massaging seats either, those came in handy on long trips as a little pick-me-up.
