2022 LT trailboss
TNTSierra replied to AlexTrailBoss's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Yes, my father has a Flowmaster muffler on his F150 and when I ride with him in his truck my head aches afterwards. Drones terribly. Can’t handle it. He is 65 now and says doesn’t bother him. Told him get his ears checked out!! I was just brought up by my dad who worked 2 jobs to keep us afloat, was a part time mechanic and always stated to do things right! Not half-ass and cutting off a muffler and putting on a straight pipe in my opinion is half-ass. Putting on a whole Catback system that has had hours of R/D behind it, just makes sense to me. Yes, it does cost a bit more but in the scheme of things compared to the cost of the truck. It’s very minimal. Yet, I see this all the time. People buy expensive vehicles (trucks now a days) and then can’t afford to modify them correctly because they are so strapped for cash! Finding the easy way out…..not my style, and then come on to a site and complain how it sounds like . -
Single cab 2.7 high output mods
TNTSierra replied to Fubar12's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
I’m a V8, but I can also appreciate the new 2.7L 4 cylinder. I can bet you any amount of money that if I got 2 Chevy trucks. One with a 5.3L and one with a 2.7L. I make you wear earplugs to not hear the engine and you’d drive both. I can almost bet you couldn’t tell the difference and your perspective on the so called “4-banger” would change. Have an open mindset when it comes to things likes this. Hell don’t you remember the GMC Syclone or Typhoon. Those V6s were fast enough to take down Ferrari’s in the early 90s. Let that sink in for a minute. I can’t wait for the 2.7L to be in the Colorado and Canyon. Those trucks are going to “scoot”. -

The Corsa Catback is built wonderfully, sounds amazing and is whisper quiet when cruising. Yes it gets loud when you step on it which puts a smile on your face. A muffler delete is annoyingly loud all the damn time. It’s a night and day difference. I love a loud and aggressive exhaust under acceleration, but just cruising down the road, I enjoy the quietness it provides. I can’t tell you how many trucks I pass going down the road and you HEAR the annoying “drone” sound coming from the exhaust. Man it has to get “exhausting” (no pun intended) listening to that day in and day out. -

Stop doing things half ass and put a Catback system on it! Buy a Corsa or Borla system. Problem solved. It always makes me shake my head when people spend $40, $50$, $60 thousand dollars on vehicles and then won’t spend the money needed on a nice exhaust or whatever up grades. Just try and do it cheap. Well cheap doesn’t last and you get what you paid for. “Man, I’m starting to sound like my old man”?? Do things right the first time and you won’t have to keep redoing it! -
295/35/24 He prefers the Falken Ziex S/TZ—05 Really likes those tires. He said Toyos were ok but he bought these now and prefers them. Easy balance for such a big tire

I added new pic.

This is my buddies avalanche on 24s. He also got the Toyo tires. They are pretty quiet. I like the KMC slides in Chrome!! Just don't hold up in the winter, so changes them out to factory ones when snow hits. I am contemplating getting the 24's in snowflake, but going to wait for stuff to come down. I have been talking to him and rims and tires have gone out of control right now and that is at his cost! I also like these DUB Flex in milled glass black.

Bilstein 5100s. my mother is buying her 2018 Buick Enclave out next Saturday. The dealership has to honor her old depreciation value. So she is buying it for $11k under what it books for now, instead of getting something else that is out of control in pricing. It only has 36k on it. good luck.

Corsa vs. Borla on a 6.2...
TNTSierra replied to Badbird2000's topic in Engines & Drivetrain (V8, Duramax, TurboMax)
I have the Corsa. Love it, wouldn't buy anything else. It has zero drone, whisper quiet when cruising down highway. Loud cold start bark, then calms down quickly. It is a lot louder than the Borla touring. It is about the same as the S-type. -
I didn’t say I like dodge. I didn’t talk about rear ends or transmissions. You totally are missing the point! GM has the technology to increase HP/TQ, they are just too busy worrying about EVs right now which is ok for big city drivers but me in the Midwest, no surplus around me, time to charge is ridiculous, and extreme cold temperatures……we don’t know how long they will hold up, along with how long these batteries will last, what will we do with these batteries once they take a .

5.3L is around 280ish on a lot of threads I’ve read. The 6.2L is 350ish on most of those threads as well. the 10 speed is what makes a difference. The K2s transmission programming hindered them. They were terrible!! The new T1s 10 speed programming is smooth, flawless, and quick shifting. My 6.2L High Country 10 speed with just a Corsa Catback and S&B intake would beat my 2018 Sierra 6.2L with Gibson Catback exhaust, S&B intake, and Hypertech tune. The transmission wasn’t tuned just motor. Back then in 2018 even Black bear performance didn’t have a transmission tune yet. That’s why I bought the Hypertech for $300 that gave it a 27 hp bump from stock. Hypertech thought with the exhaust and CAI it was around 40 HP. It was a nice handheld system for the money.
-
First off the V8s have had the same output since 2014! The 5.3L could easily push 400HP and the 6.2L can push 475 or higher. There is no reason both of those V8s shouldn’t be class leading. there is no excuse for GM to neglect them for almost 10 years. It’s unacceptable when you have the small block reputation they are known for! Period! The 2.7L looks to be a nice engine. Just not my style. It will do wonders in the Colorado and Canyon trucks. That’s where it will truly shine.

IDK if I would call this engine a lemon?? Please explain. I have read many articles praising it for fuel economy, smoothness, quietness, and reliability. Yes, it hasn't been out that long, but I haven't read much on them having real issues. I'd like to hear what some owners on this forum think. Their experiences. When I test drove one, I was greatly surprised on acceleration, combo of engine and transmission shifting, along with how quiet it was!! A little to quiet for me. I love the sound of my 6.2L

I had the chance to buy a KIA Sorento, Telluride, and Hyundai Pallisade, but choose to go with a Traverse Redline Edition. Yes, the interiors are nice, IDK if that much nicer than the Traverse. I love how I can hide things behind my 8 inch touch screen on my traverse where the others had just a tablet slammed right in-front of your face. The new Explorer is the worst. The huge tablet just sits there hanging right in front of you. No thanks, I like an inlayed screen that flows with the vehicle. I think these Traverse's are nice looking especially in redline edition. Rides amazing, has very good power (wish they would drop in a 5.3L for more power in an SS model), and gets 25-27 mpgs depending on how aggressive "we" drive it!

2022 Refreshed AT4 has arrived
TNTSierra replied to Ossie Rushing's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
How the world can’t it have garage door buttons?? Come on GM!?!? Also with the retro fit heated steering wheel for -$25. Do you have to pay money when the chip comes in?? I have a really hard time believing that chip only cost $25 when they start producing them again! Nice color choice! Love that new interior. Congrats. -
Rattle in the rear!
TNTSierra replied to Memphis87's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Headrest’s. Take them out and pull apart the rods holding them in Also check your tire jack being properly secured 3rd check the bolts holding in the seats. They can be loose. 4th is spoiler. 5th is window itself i had dealer end up fixing all of these like 1st month of ownership. Really quiet now. take care. -
Man that sucks. Another reason why I moved out of the LIBERAL west coast. You pay $2.00 more than me. Makes me angry. No need for this, but that’s what we get when an Alzheimer’s patient gets into office.

Throughout this week, I have been doing a little test on my truck. Since "I pay for my own gas", and it's out of control at $4.39 for premium here in Iowa. I have seen my mileage to work increase from 23.9 mpg's from 17.6 mpgs. Now this is just the trip meter and dash indicator on the truck but bare with me. Here is what I have done: First when I take off, I haven't let the truck go above 2000 rpms, instead of accelerating at normal or a little aggressive speed. Second, I have set the cruise at 67 mph, this seems like the sweet spot for my truck. The highway I travel is 65, so I don't want to go slower than that, because of idiots still driving 75-80 mph. The RPM's are around 1400 with the 10 spd. I also have not remote started the truck all week. So after work, yes, it stinks when cold, but it has helped tremendously. I usually get a tank out of one weeks worth (Sunday-Sunday). I still have a little over a half a tank of gas today (243 miles to empty), last Friday I was at 138 miles to empty. All through the dash, I know, not truly accurate but still 100 miles is a big difference. Just thought I'd share what I have found. Hopefully some of you guys can benefit from slowing down, relaxing, leaving 10 minutes earlier for work, enjoying the scenery, and just enjoying life and the simple things, because its chaos out there right now and we need a little comfort/peace. Take care, hope this helps, have great weekend gentlemen.

I have had my Corsa on for almost 2 years and 30k miles. I don't have any issues with it. Maybe it is someone who just cut off the flappers or stock exhaust and welded in a straight pipe or another exhaust muffler. The Corsa Cat-back is very well constructed, sounds excellent, and straight forward to put on! I love it!

I tow my boat to my lake house once in early May and then back home in late September. I have the Corsa Sport. It will get a little loud when towing up hills! The exhaust gets very aggressive above 3500 RPM's, but I love it. The exhaust is whisper quiet when cruising down the road. Interstate 29 has a few intermediate hills that require the truck to downshift, but for the most part it stays in 9th gear (tow haul) while towing my boat around 80mph. My buddy has always chosen Corsa on his vehicles, he told me to go with Corsa, and after purchasing it, I wouldn't have another exhaust. It is a bit pricey, but shop around! I got mine for $1180 at pickup trucks.com with a 20% rebate I had gotten from them. Regular $1520 I believe on Corsa site. Hope this helps...Take care
