  1. It’s interesting you state that a 2.7L gets better fuel economy than a 5.3L. In theory it absolutely should but in many reviews I have read about it. The engine has all been great except for fuel economy. Here is just one article. It couldn’t even achieve 16!! https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a25177218/2019-chevy-silverado-1500-four-cylinder-drive/ I’m up at our lake home this 4th and I have my 6.2L which is reading 19.6. And stepdads 5.3L with 10 speed read 22.8 mpgs. I still am so greatly impressed with how well this 5.3L/10 speed combo performs compared to my old two K2 5.3Ls.
  2. That’s complete bull$h!t. Go in there around 11 or 1 o’clock when it’s very busy. Be very stern, loud, demanding, but not out of control. Make sure you let everyone sitting in the lobby room know your situation, when you’re talking to service department. I know this is an apples to oranges comparison. But it’s same concept. My stepdad and I had a situation a few years ago with an ATV and a belt constantly slipping. He went up there right before closing. Nothing got done. I said HELL NO! Went up next day. Lobby was full. Said my piece, and people in lobby were like….”oh they won’t warranty things!!” Men behind counter didn’t like that!! ATV Was back up and fixed that same day for free. I told the head manager and business owner that this isn’t how a good business should be run. They agreed. There is no reason it shouldn’t get fixed especially since this is a serious known issue with the T1 trucks. I have been very fortunate (knock on wood) that after my purchase and fix right away in the truck. I haven’t had issue again. I truly believe it has to do with the “clowns” at the stealerships not sealing it properly the first time. They guys knew exactly what was wrong with mine when I bought it and had it for 2 days to make sure it was done right. Hopefully you get it sorted out. Don’t be a pushover!!!. Keep on them. Goodluck.
  3. I love chrome. Always have and always will. I choose this time to go half and half with my wheels, because of the winter weather we get here in Iowa. I like them but don’t love them. A 22 or 24 inch chrome snowflake wheel will be on my truck in the future.
  4. They are far and few! My 19 HC has the standard bed and I love it. Makes life a lot easier when putting things into the bed of truck straight forward instead of always putting things at an angle to try and fit them in with a short bed. Congrats on new truck.
  5. First off….,lifting a truck kills performance and MPGs….hence why I can’t stand lifted trucks! Second a 6.2L has 110 more HP and 30 more Ft Lbs of TQ………….idk where u got 62 and 22 ft lbs less?? Third the new T1s are so damn huge in the front end that MPGs on the 6.2Ls really hinder it. My K2 6.2L and even the 2 5.3Ls all got above 23 mpgs going 70 mph. My new high country has to stay in the 66-67 mph to even compete. Even at 80 mph running up interstate. My K2s would achieve 20 mpg. If I go above 70 mph in my T1. I wont achieve 20 mpg. That’s my really only complaint from the new body style. Hopefully you have great luck with your 2.7L HO. From what I have read and heard. They are a nice little motor. Especially if u do live in higher elevations.
  6. The calipers on the T1s are larger so many of the K2 wheels do not clear the calipers. I believe the snowflakes are one of the only wheels that work. Don’t quote me but many have had issues with the calipers clearance on the T1 trucks. Also GM is having supply issues with some of their wheel options. Hopefully u can get a set u like.
  7. Or a 6.2L………….like the older 6.0L. But yes, a 3.6L turbo black wing motor would suffice Im guessing!!!
  8. Seriously?? That’s why they made the turbo 4 cylinder! For fuel economy. If u wanted power they offer 2 V8s, and you get a wonderful exhaust note along with it.
  9. Maybe because a 4 banger is mostly bought for fuel economy!? And throwing bigger tires and a lift on it will destroy what it’s main purpose was built for!?!
  10. My K2 Sierra destroys this T1 Silverado in Furl Economy. I have to keep it at 66-67 mph and baby it while accelerating in my Silverado 22-23ish compared to normal driving and cruise set at 70 mph 24 mpgs all day long in the Sierra. But the T1 does drive and ride way better. It has to be that damn HUGE front end and I mean huge!! They are hard to see over/around. No wonder why they gave it so many camera angles
  11. @todd308 They are all lifted pavement pounding princesses!!! No one paying those prices are taking them seriously off road for their intended purposes. Never have liked lifted trucks. I totally agree with you on the “SS” model. GM should market the hell out of it and be the first to really offer a sport truck. Trucks have turned into luxury family haulers. Might as well give it an aggressive stance, dual exhaust, supercharged, paddle shifting machine. Unfortunately good old liberal Mary has her mind set on EVs which is still way to far off from where it needs to be at.
  12. A full interior detail and a nice hand wash and dry!
  13. I sold mine with 99k in 2014 for a loaded GMC Acadia. Loved the ride of the Acadia and needed a more “family hauler” back then. Man I wish I would have just kept it and bought the Acadia out right but wife and I were not financially set like we are now. Sure to miss the SS though. Man glad u enjoyed yours. 100k in two years is a $h!t ton of miles and smiles!!!
  14. I’ve never had an issue racing an ecobust or 5.0L. Neighbor at my old house had 5.0 and bragged how fast it was. It was decent but not a 6.2L. They just “pull” so well all the way till they hit the limiter. I’m at 1100 here in Iowa. Now a Raptor is another story. But they are geared differently and that helps them. A Ram Hemi is no contest. Buddy has had 2. After first one he refuses to race again. And new one is ETorque. Doesn’t help anyways. If GM had retuned the refresh to 450+ HP I would have jumped on the high trade in value and got one. Just didn’t do enough for ME personally. I don’t mind interior of my truck. It suffices!
  15. Premium was $1 more today. I still choose premium because I bought a damn 6.2L for “the power”. I also read an article that came out yesterday about the high cases of defaulting auto loans. So many “fools” over budgeted themselves during the pandemic because they had the government money coming in, interest rates were low, and they WANTED something new. Not thinking about the consequences of what the future holds. Well it’s going to get worse before it gets better. I just pray we as a society can get through it without more chaos!!
  16. Mine is factory like other 2 gentleman’s vehicle. I have 6 ft 6 in box and it goes wheel well to wheel well. Nice and easy to clean back window stepping up onto extended board.
  17. Ya. I remember reading an article back in 2005 when GM was developing the SS Trailblazer and they did talk about “throwing turbos” on the inline 6, and it made good power, but they stated in the article they wanted that “robust V8” engine rumble and put in the out going 6.0L corvette motor. Which I’m glad they did because man I loved the vehicle. Sometimes you look back and say to yourself…..”why did I ever get rid of it”? If we only knew!!!
  18. Especially below, at, and reasonably around sea level. That’s why I wish TFLTruck would go to sea level and do drag races some times. The ecobust has such an advantage in higher elevations. Reading the comments the Ford fanboys always gloat. I just chuckle.
  19. Were you in sport mode and AUTO? My best times and launches have always come from those to combos. Nice run and truck sounds good.
  20. So here is a thought. GM already had the inline 6 Atlas motor over a decade ago in the Trailblazer. It was a 4.2L and produced 291 hp and 277 TQ. That could possibly be a motor to develop off of. I had 2 Atlas motors in a 2002 TB and then an 06 TB and they were both very strong and reliable.
  21. Very nice hood. Before I traded in my 2018 Sierra, I was looking at their hoods. Seem to be very well made and it just sets the truck apart from other trucks! Congrats! I like it a lot.
  22. I had this on my wish list if it was right at $100k. When I saw $150k. I rolled my eyes and said WTF!!!! I can supercharge my Silverado and buy a brand new ZL1 Camaro convertible and still not have $150k into both of them. Don’t get wrong, it’s a badass machine and GM will sell everyone of them though….just not my money. Outrageous!!!
  23. I bought a 6.2L for the power and performance. I have used 91+ octane in it from day one. It has 40k on it now and still turns the new tires I put on it Friday like it did from day one! Yes premium does cost more but I’d rather put what is recommended in it as a piece of mind knowing I’ll be fine driving down the interstate or highway with my family. Those that choose not to use premium is absolutely your choice but then you probably should have just gone with the 5.3L then!
  24. You can tell it’s sucking in more air. I installed a Gibson Catback on my 2018 Sierra SLT with 6.2L and my Corsa Sport on my 2019 High Country before installing each of my S&Bs so I don’t know if it’s noticeably louder with just the intake and stock exhaust. When I get on it especially at lower speeds, in town driving, then getting on it, you can hear the cold intake very well.
  25. Both. That truck just got excellent mileage. 3 years ago we had the Missouri River flood and my normal route to Interstate 29 was cut off. So I just took a 60 mph scenic route to the lake house. The truck registered 28.6 mpgs. I loved everything about the K2 truck except the HORRIBLE 8 speed transmission and smaller rear back seat legroom with no air vents. Everything else was perfect. Yes it rode different than T1s but it still was very acceptable and quiet.
