  1. It would be a better idea to do something custom. I would use an amp like the Kicker Key 200.4 and some good speakers. I have the Bose and it's pretty good but this route would sound better and be cheaper.
  2. I can send a text via steering wheel SIRI wirelessly? The Ram has some really nice things going for it and yes GM has some catching up to do. But 2 things that I think GM has that RAM doesn't is the 2.7L Base engine and looks. I think the Silverado looks better than the RAM.
  3. Nope, it's 100% fixed. Took the engine cover off, put it back on (make sure the back pieces click on (toward the firewall), then tighten the 2 front bolts down good.
  4. No I don't have any lights on the dash.
  5. Has anyone gotten this diagnostic (my first actually). Do I really need to take it in? Ugh.
  6. So I put about 20 miles on with the aFe... throttle response is definitely better, no question. The transmission seems to have smoothed out, I have no idea why. The engine sounds great! Seriously when you get on it, the engine roars... but when light on the pedal the sound is exactly the same. You can hear the intake and turbo more with the windows down but with windows up, not much difference, engine just sounds more aggressive. There feels like a small gain at the low end and a little more pull at the top. All in all, I think its worth it. The overall smoother drivetrain, the engine sound and potential slight improvement in MPG are worth it to me!
  7. Installed the AFE INTAKE today. I got it off eBay new with a coupon for about $100 off AFE’s price. Pretty straightforward install. I started and revved it a bit. No lights (knock on wood). I’ll post a review after I do some driving today.
  8. Kind of excited to get my aFe intake today. I'm not expecting anything crazy but hopefully a little better throttle response and maybe a more aggressive engine sound under load. I'll post a video, I can't find much real-world info on it.
  9. I’ve had a rattle/vibrate on my dash around 1200RPM since I got the truck. I took it to the dealer and after a week they said “this engine is just rough”. So I narrowed it down to the engine cover. I took that off and poof the vibrating is gone. I’ll try to re-seat the cover eventually but I have to take it off when my intake gets here anyway. For now it stays off.
  10. If you don't want anything crazy but good sound and pretty damn loud, I HIGHLY recommend this little amp that you can hide anywhere and it is a DSP too (that works), paired with Alpine Type S speakers, I didn't need a sub (this was in my Jeep, I am happy enough with the Bose in the RST). https://www.bestbuy.com/site/kicker-key-200w-multichannel-amplifier-with-high-pass-crossover-black/6409449.p?skuId=6409449&ref=212&loc=1&extStoreId=404&ref=212&loc=1&ds_rl=1268649&gclid=CjwKCAjwu5CDBhB9EiwA0w6sLdmfmh_fjHBJkCYB4l87oA0lbluCZQA4Ys3vcS1TbpVYFbkmMae17BoCBO4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  11. Which I just don't understand.... I drove the 2.7 and 5.3 back to back and the 2.7 was more fun to drive and felt just as powerful. The truck felt more nimble with the weight savings too. The 6.2 is in a whole other league.
  12. I'm really happy with it. I don't tow at all and it's got plenty of "giddy up". I wish there was a turbo booster and more bolt ons to give it a little more oomph but all in all its impressive.
  13. Well I ordered the aFe intake today. I’ll report back what I think.
  14. Thanks. Not that I have to justify myself but I like the 2.7. I just wanted to tinker with it. When I got my truck during the heart of the pandemic there was slim pickings, I had to hunt down a 5.3 and a 2.7 and I chose the 2.7. I like it.
  15. Even in stock form I like the 2.7 better than the 5.3. For my mostly city driving and family car, the 5.3 was an unresponsive dog. I have no problem admitting I don’t haul anything and needed a larger car for the kids. I like some fun acceleration that’s about it. The 5.3 got worse mileage and was not as instantly peppy around town.
  16. Whats the consensus on CAI for the 2.7? Worth it? Has anyone tried the aFe tuner yet?
  17. You must have some small balls or something. I chose the T4 over the 5.3 due to instant torque and overall responsiveness. Sad to be you.
  18. I went with Toyo Open Country AT3’s, stock size on stock 18’s and I think they ride more comfortable than the stock tires, look way better, aren’t much louder on the highway and excellent in the rain and snow. Oh and they look WAY better.
  19. I am perfectly happy with the 2.7L but obviously tinkering is fun. Has anyone tried a tuner or universal boost controller yet?
  20. Hi there I was wondering if they could help. My 2020 Silverado 2.7L RST was idling really rough and the transmission was quite jerky. I took it to my local dealership. They acknowledged there is an issue but will not give me much more info. They have had it a week and are saying they are trying to find another Silverado 2.7L with approx the same amount of miles (8,000) to compare the computer programming. It’s really hard to get ahold of them and I was hoping maybe GM Corp could help them out? After switching from FCA, I’m not super happy with GM yet Thanks!
  21. I have these too. They fit perfect and look completely stock.
  22. Mine seems to happen in relation to the engine. Doesn't really happen when idling then it happens a little gets worse around 1000-1500 RMP then goes away. But not always. It's very random but annoying!
  23. I felt the same about my 2020, I put Bilsteins on the rear around 500 miles, a few thousand miles in once the leafs broke in it's night and day. I love the way it drives now. Worthy $180 investment no doubt!
