  1. I paid ~$300 for the SCCM and HVAC unit to enable the heated steering wheel, the wheel itself already came with the element. Ridiculous parts shortages but I could order the parts to my door within 3 days. Ambient lighting came in the truck, one color, but they removed the few areas mentioned over the years and I added them all back in, simple as plugging them in. I have been in 3 Ultimate's which is why I ordered the Raptor. My 2020 had the "ultimate package" before the refresh happened, the new interior is way nicer obviously. I just think the lack of luxury features compared to other brands doesn't describe a truck as Ultimate. I hate Ram's but their interior is super nice with a ton of features. When it comes to comfortable seats, Ram crushes GM but I wont ever own one.
  2. My sunroof has be flawless for 10k miles so I guess I am lucky. Speaking of leaks my 2020 had the leaky rear window which was beyond frustrating. My 23 has everything the 21's had, heated steering wheel, all of the ambient lighting including lower door cars, cup holders, storage tray, glove box, etc. It all cost me $500 and install was a breeze. The only thing is doesn't have is a Torsen front dif and I could give two ****** about it. I've heard more bad things then good. GM needs to step up their game if you want to call a truck Ultimate, just my opinion.
  3. I've owned GM's for 12 years and recently ordered/purchased a 23 Raptor. Most comfortable seats I have ever had in a truck. My 2020 Denali had decent seats after 36k, until I sat in the Raptor. I still love GM's but their seats kinda suck. I will be back when GM starts adding pano roofs, ambient lighting, and all the things that should come in a truck labeled "Ultimate".
  4. If you consider needing 4H to get out of wet grass a characteristic of a good tire you nailed it.
  5. my 2020 HATED anything but 93 octane. It would stumble on idle and run like crap.
  6. newdude said it best, I went from many years of owning the 6.2 Denali's and recently purchased a new Raptor with twin turbos, its a gas hog. Its fun as hell, but not efficient. I think its worse then my 2020 6.2 honestly.
  7. Get these and never look back, the upgrade is dramatic
  8. This happened to me, I would have had the dealer throw a dial indicator on the rotors as opposed to just replacing them. Its likely the rears.
  9. The 2017 I traded almost talked me out of GM vehicles all together. It was a 6.2 Denali and the 8 speed transmission was the worst piece of s*** I have ever driven as the miles piled on(32k when I traded it). Fast forward, I have had my truck almost 3.5 years and I too have rust on the ends of the power step pins. I have had to lube them once a year for some squeaking here and there but overall I cant complain about the steps other then them being flush with the door sills. My AMP steps on another truck offered a much better step for getting in(not really for me, for my grandmother when we go to dinner). Every truck brand has issues, Ford, RAM, Toyota, etc so you have to pick your poison. It is frustrating GM's flagship truck rides horrible but it sounds like the issues aren't happening to all of us. Will I buy another GM someday? I would say probably but my test drive is going to be an hour minimum. I made the mistake of sitting in the new Gen3 Raptor and taking it for a "spirited" hour test drive, the result is I placed an order haha. Good luck, they make these trucks everyday so going through the Lemon process might yield a more pleasurable truck to drive.
  10. Mr Leadfoot, boy am I glad I found this thread. I have a 2020 Denali, 6.2 and 22's, with the EXACT issues you have been describing in 4 pages. To give you some color, back when I purchased brand new, I test drove another color truck, it road fine, but ended up going for a black one with every option available. I am embarrassed to say I didn't test drive the exact truck I purchased. Covid had just hit, everything shut down, they had weird rules about driving trucks, etc. Anyway, on my way home, I noticed shaking as you described. I called with 12 miles on the truck complaining about spending 72k on a truck that rides worse then the 2017 I had just traded. They did a Pico test, replaced tires, and it did improve but never went away. They basically said sorry your truck was within spec on the Pico test after so much back and forth. I was exhausted by the process and said whatever, I am just driving it. I've put different GM wheels on for winter, new tires, etc, my problem has never managed to go away. I just purchased Defenders for my stock wheels a couple of weeks ago, the truck now has 37k on it. They made a HUGE difference, but it still shakes. With all of that said, I am totally convinced part of the issue is the DFM. I disable autostop every time I get in the truck, but have strongly considered purchasing the DFM disabler. I notice some weird idling at times which leads me to believe its DFM related. The dealership replaced 4 of my injectors at one point because of rough idle, it still shakes. I can't blame the large wheels, my wife has had Audi's with very large wheels and the cars have floated over the roads at any speed. This is my 4th GM in a row, all have been relatively amazing other then this one. I know all brands have annoying quirks, but I ordered a Raptor and should see it by the end of 2023. I still like GM, I just need a change I am so burnt out with this thing. I am not comparing the Raptor to the Denali, two totally different caliber trucks, I am just in desperate need of a change. My advise, trade it before it drives you insane unless you somehow get it lemoned.
  11. Not sure if anyone has had this issue since the thread started in 2020. I have this EXACT issue on my 2020 Denali. Upper tailgate works, lower works with remote and button on the center console, but the button on the tailgate doesn't. I replaced the button and still nothing. I believe my truck thinks the upper gate is open which wont allow the lower to operate but I have no way of confirming. ****UPDATE: I had a broken wire above my spare tire, no idea how it happened but it all works now.
  12. Not sure if this will help, had a similar issue and I deleted my profile and it all went away. It works perfectly now.
  13. Banks GMC in Concord NH is MSRP on GM's other than Escalades. banksautos.com
  14. Pics or it didn't happen. I am really on the fence about the Ultimate. I really dont care about the Carbon Pro bed or the Super Cruise but I love the interior. I really wish they did a panoramic sunroof and matched the Vader chrome grill to all of the chrome pieces on the truck. It's still a very nice truck, also, painted wheel arches should be standard! Let us know how that Bose speaker system sounds too.
  15. Anyone have experience with these? I have a 20 with the 6.2 and heard mixed reviews when these first came out.
  16. All brands burn oil, we have 5.0 F150's at work and they burn just under a quart per 1000 miles. JUNK! Shutting down cylinders isn't a good thing in my book.
  17. I would also look into the AMP steps. They are literally bulletproof, I had them on two different trucks through New England winters and I never had an issue. They now have dual motor setups too! If I had to guess you would save money with the AMPs as well.
  18. I too have some real experience with the Alenza's. When I bought my 2020, I had some serious balancing/shaking issues in which the dealer replaced all of them. It took them 3 damn days to get them road force balanced within GM's acceptable limits. I haven't had any problems since. As for highway driving, excellent. Very smooth and quiet. These things in the snow are horrible! I purchased another set of GM wheels with dedicated snow tires and it goes great. I live in NH so we see every season at its best and worst.
  19. Awesome! I didn't know you could get the baby D Max without the towing mirrors, good to know!
  20. I am ordering a Raptor July 18th pending acknowledgment from Ford. Not super clear if the Raptor orders start on that date but my dealership is ready to go with my order once they do! I am not loyal to any truck brand I just wanted something different after 4 GMC's in a row.
  21. I would definitely have to see the price point. Not sure if you have driven the Gen3 raptor but its badass. Both nice trucks, unfortunately the Raptor has huge mark ups. I wonder if the AEV AT4x will experience the same??
  22. Howard, I have a ~5 year old Ipod Touch in my 2020 Sierra Denali and overall it works well. It does have a few annoying quirks once and awhile and I cant tell if its the truck or the Ipod. There are times it freezes and wont play a song so I simply restart the Ipod and it seems to fix the issue. Another problem, again intermittent, where I go to start the truck or have remote started, turned on the ignition and it plays 2-3 seconds of a song extremely loud! It's the weirdest thing, I set the start volume on the truck to zero and it still does it, scares the crap out of me and my passengers. This was never and issue until the truck updated a few months ago. Super annoying!
  23. This picture actually captures what I wanted to see which is the wood trim, speaker grills, badging, floor matts, etc. If your anything like me you will be grabbing for the column shifter a few times if you previously owned a GM truck haha. Does this truck still showcase the exterior "lighting animation" when unlocking? Still not sure what that even means honestly.
  24. Hey! Any shots of the interior? I had ordered an Ultimate but am having second thoughts because I really don't want the autonomous driving, carbon bed, speakers in the bed, and the Vader chrome grill doesn't even match the lower grills(drives me insane why the Vader chrome doesn't apply to every piece on the truck). It would save me some money too for options I don't really want.
