  1. I'm interested to know more about that vehicle. On that vehicle (it would be extremely beneficial to all), if the owner has to replace any electronic parts, does the new parts comes with any power bank to keep it powered? If the new electronic parts does not have power to it while "new" in the box, would it not work? Would it just be more problematic? If so is it even worth replacing electronic parts? I'm extremely curious about that vehicle.
  2. Check fuse. Might have pop a few. Also if you have air compressor, blow at all the connectors under the spare tire. Try to get all the water out. Edit. Did you use a pressure washer? If not, you shouldn't have issues washing under the truck.
  3. Another reason why I do not recommend the "dealer" unless it's being done under warranty, meaning free of charge. I'm not trying to be negative but this forum is all about going to the "dealer" or "site sponsor ". You can try; 1. The "dealer" 2. "Site sponsor" 3. Repeat step 1. Now, if you like to do things yourself, check the fluid and make sure it's enough. What type of fluid was put in there? Did you have this same problem before going to the dealer?
  4. Glad it works out for you too
  5. No pressure is good. Back pressure could cause symptoms you are experiencing. Try cleaning your MAF to see if it helps.
  6. Another thing to check. Not sure if you have gas cap or not. When you open your gas cap, is there back pressure coming out. You can hear pressure being released.
  7. Is it tune by a shop? Or tune with one of those useless junk handheld? (I know it's junk because I have one). Go back to stock and your problem will be solved.
  8. I can see why there's confusion. When updating module(s), you would need to provide power to the vehicle as some module takes 30+ minutes to complete. You don't want your battery to shutdown in the middle of an update. I had update multiple modules before. One time I got a low battery warning in the middle of an update. I had to connect a jumper cable from my truck to a running vehicle just so there's power. The truck can not be running when updating modules.
  9. If the starter was the issue, a jump would not start the car. Do a load test on the battery. If battery is strong on load test, measure alternator voltage. If it's low than you have a weak alternator. If alternator have good voltage than check battery cable.
  10. Take your time to do it right. Don't force any wires/parts out of the way. Do it right. Key points to most issue; Time = money To get more money = fast repair Fast repair = takes shortcuts Take shortcuts = owner headaches
  11. Food for thought; -Why do people recommend disconnecting battery to reset the vehicle? -Why touch both negative and positive cable together to drain power to all electronics? -When purchasing replacement electronic parts, is there a battery pack attached to provide power?
  12. Just replaced my battery recently. Had it unplugged for approximately 2 hours. Took it off, did my routine shopping, bought a new battery and installed about 2 hours later. No issue so far. Take your time, don't yank things around. What I did, removed air box/MAF, removed coolant tank, unbot all the cords connected to the top fuse box (its all label with matching numbers). Slide the battery out and slide in the new battery. Reinstall everything. Edit. Forgot to mention about the harness connected to the fuse block. Removed that as well.
  13. Clean your MAF and try again. Might need a new MAF. Probably got dirty due to your CAI.
  14. You don't need to be GM certified to work on your own truck. Psssh GM Customer Advisors. I don't think it's the brakes. Make sure the lug nuts are tight and the wheels seats properly. If it was the brakes it would be grinding.
  15. Double check the work that was done. Make sure the harness connecting to the top block (fuse?) Is connected. Check all the posts on top to make sure it's not loose or connect wrong. Wires and posts are labeled with matching number.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong but the screen shot you provided shows the 8200 which does not support custom tuning. The 8245 does support custom tuning... so which one are you selling anyway? Trying to help you, the seller. And trying to help the buyer as well.
  17. Maybe coffee killed it.
  18. My guess is, when that happens, it must of tripped either the radio module or HMI module to locked up (hence the black screen). If so, a reprogram is needed. But first try unplug the battery for 30 min and try again.
  19. I laugh every time people says ONLY the "dealer" or "site sponsor ", they the only one that can do it... is this forum run by GM Customer Advisor? Sometimes I wonders.... Dealer will quote anywhere from $120 to $190 just to update/reprogram your HMI (I know because I called and got different quote before). Some dealer will charge a $90 (around the price) diagnostic fee even though all you need is an update. Get an obd2 with pass thru, there are cheap one around $120, get AC Delco SPS service for $40 and you gain access for 2 years. For $160, you can reprogram any modules on your truck, plus you now have an OBD scanner. Edit: please note, if your truck is under warranty. Let the dealer take care. If it's out of warranty then do it yourself.
  20. Check under setting - android auto. Make sure it's enable. (I'm going off memory as I'm not near the truck).
  21. I don't know if you have a USB port in your glove box, if I recall correctly that port also works with android auto.
  22. If you don't have Android Auto installed. It will prompt you to install when first use. If you have 3rd party Android Auto app installed that are not approved by Google for Android Auto, it will not connect. Try with a data usb cable and not just a power only cable.
  23. The cup holder has a rubber overlay. Pull it off so you can access the screws. Remove the screws and you can remove the cup holder. You will gain access to removing the USB plug once cup holder is removed.
  24. Either I'm lost or you don't understand it can be done without WAMS. Maybe WAMS can program a CD player/USB playback and backup camera into his HMI. My understanding is, he needs new hardwares such as the CD player (hardware), a new face plate (screen) with access slot to the CD player, a backup camera (hardware) and io4 HMI. And also possibly camera wiring if the truck is not equipped. WAMS is only needed if he wants additional features not already came with the new HMI. For example; video in motion, camera in motion and others feature he might not even use. Like I said, maybe I'm lost. Maybe I should've pay WAMS when I did my io6 upgrade.
