  1. Sorry, I've not seen this one before. Can you give more info or a link where I can buy one?
  2. Surprised more people aren't interested in this.
  3. Nice vid... Doesn't look like too bad of a job. Assuming it's fine to upgrade this as a proactive repair? ('14 Silverado with maybe 50k miles, no brake issues so far)
  4. Interesting. .. first I've seen this one. Looks much less obtrusive than the others.
  5. What is the point of sealing the tailgate where it meets the bed?
  6. I had the auto door lock programed out on my '10.... could never get it done on my '14. Would love to save the wear and tear from the auto lock feature by having it turned off.
  7. Great idea. .. looking fwd to pics...
  8. Flashing light still indicator for misfire? It was on older gm cars. ..
  9. A leaf or some debris fell into the fan when he removed the filter. Happens all the time with the filter / fan design.
  10. Yep, torque. Late 90's lots o us fbody guys had warped rotors. We determined cause was wheel torque. Since then I've always torqued wheels by hand and never had an issue. Maybe I'd think differently if I were a full time mechanic. But as a home mechanic - I do everything by the torque # listed in the manual.
  11. I doubt it. .. I'd be shocked if gm paid for it since you're out of warranty. Regardless, the non gm dealer was just a quick and easy excuse for your person on chat. This is an easy post warranty repair for gm to make easy money on. Gm won't admit to a design fault for this.
  12. Unplug the connector under the seat? Did that on all my other trucks but have not looked at the '14
  13. Can they build more u bolts and ship them?
  14. Yea what happened to this thread? Posts are missing. .. I'll repost some pics when I get home.
  15. Finally got around to looking at mine. I have a muffler so I ordered the bracket for $8 on ebay and will install it as preventable maint (fingers crossed).
  16. My cover was full, I had to run my wire along the outside of it up into the headliner.
  17. i finally hardwired my dash cam. i removed the entire overhead console as shown in post 2... the big plug on the driver side is what i used to wire in a 12v power socket (cigarette lighter) and plugged my dash cam power supply into it.i use the e-prance 802 dash cams (similar to this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F2GMUPU ) i got an accessory power plug similar to this for like $4 at advanced auto parts (cut off the clips): http://www.autozone.com/12v-products/12-volt-socket-adapter/bell-12-volt-battery-clip-power-adapter/263165_0_0/?checkfit=true wired into the big plug in overhead compartment. i forgot to get a pic or write down the pin number - but pretty sure mine was the purple/white wire in the middle row of wires (black was ground). there's pleny of room up there to stash the power stuff. the camera is mounted just behind the rear view mirror so the cables ran down the mirror stalk from the roof.
  18. yep, i pulled mine out, added some clear silicon to seal the holes. no leaks anymore if i spill something!
  19. So who wants to test shifting into reverse while driving? ;)
  20. Also would like to have a switch for the ability to see the camera at any time...
