  1. I think that you will see a trend towards hydrogen fuel development and infrastructure over the next 5 years. Some of the major oil companies are already doing the R&D for this. Unfortunately, this also requires increases in the electric grid to manufacture the hydrogen, but, is more efficient than solar or wind and the proper infrastructure will get rid of the range limitations. Off hour wind farms can be used to create the hydrogen, i.e. at night and storage technologies are slowly being developed.
  2. All sensors can transmit temperature as well as pressure and battery life estimate. GM just does not use that info for your vehicle tires.
  3. Are you talking about the child safety seat tethers? Do you not have the owner's manual?
  4. I have a VXDIAG NANO tech2 clone that I hook to my laptop. I can reset the Ethanol % with it. It was HARD to get running on the laptop the first time, but, the second time the software has improved and install was no problem. Downloading the software from the chinese site for VX gave me a virus, so make sure you have protected your PC first

  6. I use Herewego on my android phone in those cases. Always worked well even in no cell services areas. Just turn of the data connection in the app.
  7. Just did all 3 transmission lines on my '10 Silverado due to rust out by the cooler. It was cheaper than I thought it would be $155 (CAD) for the lines and 3 hours labour. Not that difficult if you have a hoist.
  8. BOLT 5922987 Original Factory Tailgate Handle for Silverado and Sierra with Lock Cylinder This kit is what I used on my 2010 tailgate, comes with the replacement handle and cover and keys itself to your ignition key. Very easy DIY project. Got it on Amazon
  9. When will he have time to do that with all the time he puts in spouting vaccine plans for the world!
  10. Mine did that for a while and then got worse. Cruise would not work, rear brake lights would flash and cycle on and off and transmission interlock would not let me start in park. Turned out to be the Brake light switch at the top of the pedal. Replaced the switch two years ago and no problems since.
  11. Any other symptoms? That is the way my '10 started to fail and then the brake lights started acting up. It was the brake pedal switch.
  12. I do not believe that you can reset the LTFT or the short term either. I reset the alcohol % with my scan tool (VXDIAG) which hooks to my computer. It keep coming back to 22% or higher all the time. There are some topics here that suggest that the % changes based on engine status after adding at least a quarter tank of fuel. To get the best results you should have an already warm engine and then drive for 7-10 miles after fueling before shutting it off. On another note P0172/175 is NOT caused by alcohol % as a general rule, you must have another issue, like a manifold leak. I had a P0171/174 AND a bad fuel trim and high alcohol% (40%). Resetting the Alcohol percentage did not fix the codes and I later found a small vacuum leak using a smoke test. Search the internet for P0172 for your engine for a diagnostic routine and follow it. You will find the problem.
  13. .40 is absolutely correct for these plugs. DO NOT regap Iridiun plugs.
  14. Stop leak of any kind WILL plug the orifice tube on all GMs. Then you will be in for a nasty repair.
  15. Canadian law is DRL is on when out of park. If there are no dedicated DRLs then the low beams must come on. Usually if you start the truck and do not put it out of park, you can turn them off by turning the auto lights to off momentarily. When you then go put of park the light will come back on.
  16. Sorry you are correct on the orange wire it is for the CHMSL (brake light) It was too early for me that morning. I took my backup feed for the camera off of the seven pin trailer connector for the camera itself and hardwired the monitor so it is constantly on so there is no delay when I go in reverse. You will not need a step down for the monitor, you could use a 1amp inline fuse but it is not necessary as your monitor will only draw what it needs.
  17. go to gmfitter website and lookup the SEO upfitter connections sections. There is already RAP fused in that junction. I used it to power my backup mirror monitor. There is also a backup wire under the dash that is blunt cut and fused for the trailer brake controller if you do not have the factory trailer brake. I believe it is the orange wire in that bundle and should be marked.
  18. If your engine is an E85 capable, then that port being open may also upset the computers ethanol percentage calculation to compensate for more air and dump more fuel in the system at low RPMs. Your fuel mileage will drop a little like 10% and you will need to reset the ethanol percentage and fuel trims after capping the port with a Good bi-directional scanner or Tech II. It probably got knocked off when someone had trouble putting the upper cover back on. I jnow that what happened to mine .
  19. The big question is "where is all that Lithium to come from". China controls most of the supply and we would probably have to rape the amazon rain forests to increase the supply needed to produce all these batteries.
  20. On the GMT900 series a faulty brake pedal switch couls also cause this effect. Might be the same on a 2014.
  21. Has anyone done something similar on a GMT900 series. I would like my LED reverse lights to come on with my cargo lights so I can work on my trailer using them just by turning on the cargo lights with the engine off. A diode setup would be good for this and as an added bonus I could flash tailgaters with my reverse lights when needed!
  22. I thouigh I read somewhere, but cannot find it right now, that the 2007 and some 2008 model years had a software fault that required a reflash of the computer to correct the TPMS light coming on for no explainable reason. If you have pressure readings in all tires in the DIC but a warning light keeps coming on it would be in the computer and NOT the tires. My TPMS toll can read the temperature and battery strenght of my sensors and at over 4+ years old they are still above 50% battery life left on both sets (one set OEM and theother Orange Electronics).
