  1. Hello i just joined and i need help . I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 4x4 with a 3.5" level kit and im planning on doing a rc 3" body lift . With the body lift can i still use my spare tire ? And what will i loose? And if you guys have a similar setup with a 3" BL can you post some pictures! Thanks for the help!
  2. Hello everyone! This is my first time posting here and appreciate all of the knowledge that is shared throughout this forum. I'm interested in lowering my 17' Silverado Crew cab with a 3/5 drop on 22's. My current set up is just a leveling kit with 33's and 20in wheels. I purchased it from the dealer with this current set up. It's a 2WD. I was planning on making it a Pre-Runner, but my mind can't stray away from sport trucks. The only mods I have done are the skid plate, 50. cal antenna, Carven and the tint. Planning on doing some interior changes and maybe some forced induction, but i want to get the suspension finalized first. Here is my question: Whats the best static drop set up out there? I have read that INEZ, and DJM have issues with limiting the turning radius. I am ignorant as to wether those issues have been fixed. Im looking at the McGauphys Lowering kit for the Stamped Steel or Aluminum Factory Control Arms Part #34270. What are your opinions and if you have the McGauphys set up, how do you like it? Do you have any turning radius issues? Thank you for your time everyone. - Drew
  3. I have a used Borla cat-back, Touring# 140570, local pickup only for $600 system has about 15k miles, great exhaust, not too loud, no drone. A bit dirty, removed because I am trading in the truck. also have Volant Cold air intake if interested for $200
  4. Brand new GMC Sierra SLE crew, when I'm parked and I turn the high beams on I hear a clanking noise under the hood? But not when I'm driving. Is this normal? (First time GMC owner)
  5. I recently bought a brand new 2018 GMC Sierra Elevation SLE. After having it for a few days and putting on 500 km, I decided to check the fluid levels. I noticed that the oil was on the lower side, meaning, it almost showed that there was minimal oil in the engine. I find this strange, seeing as normally you see the oil bubble on the dip stick between the 2 indicators. In my case, there was no proof of an oil bubble. It seems very faint and thin-looking on the dip stick. Just curious if this is how the new GMC's are, or am I just running on seriously low oil?
  6. Hello, I own an 08 GMC Sierra 2500HD Diesel Crew Cab Long box pick up, it's throwing a display message, but not giving me any codes, the message is service trailer brake system, it used to show that message and then I had it brought into the shop the second of July and they replaced the trailer break relay in the rear, had to change out some eye connectors at the fuse box. They also replaced the fuse. Worked great again from then to about a three weeks ago and this was including an 11 000km trip towing the trailer, it brought the message up again. The truck had been sitting and driven every once and a while, a bit of idling this winter as well, but no towing. so I replaced the fuse because it looked blown. After replaced it work fine again no more message thought maybe wet weather caused it. Now unfortunately now again yesterday I went to use it again and the message comes up, it was just recently used a few days ago and no message, today we have some dense fog as well as some rain. I think it only happens when it rains heavy or fog.. I am not entirely sure on that though. I replaced the fuse in the fuse box for the (ITBC) The one I changed out before to get it to work, and this time it did not work and nothing changed on the dash message still up. I can more than easily replace the Relay without any issues, but I don't want to do that if it is just going to create the exact same issue. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Also on a side note, whenever I start the truck it puts out grey smoke until it has warmed up passed about 79-85 degrees Celcius (174F-187F), which is normally after driving for about 5 mins 10 at most or letting it high idle until that temp, it also does smoke when driving until warmed up. it never puts out black or blue smoke. Its grey, just as it is on a cold day in a gas engine. today we've reached the highest temp lately about 8 degrees Celcius and it still smoked. It never did this in the summer or fall just after it got cold. So I am just wondering if this is normal or if something is causing this to happen when it shouldn't be. Could it be something as simple as it needing an oil change? Or also does it need a long drive at highway speed to deal with burn cleaning the DPF? I am a new owner to this pickup, and it is my first year with it so I am new to diesel's and don't know what to expect from them. Any help Is much appreciated!

  14. Hey everyone. I'm a long time fan of the forum, but just now deciding to join. I'm from the Oxford/Anniston, Al, area. I'm almost right in-between Atlanta and Birmingham off of interstate 20. In March of 2014 I bought a white double cab LT Z71. I settled for the 3.08 gears because of the deal I got. I had negative to carry over from my trade, so I wasn't in a great place to pick the exact truck I wanted. With that being said I really liked the truck. I got used to the awful acceleration and weird gear shifts up hills and when towing. However... last month I half heartedly ask my salesman if they had any 14's they were really needing to get rid of that was nicer than mine. Turns out they had quite a few, so I test drove a black LTZ crewcab Z71(current truck) and a black High Country 2wd. I ended up with the LTZ. I liked the High Country, but just couldn't get rid of my 4wd. I love my current truck. Besides having the luxury of the crewcab rear seat space I also have 3.42 gears in the rear end of this truck. I have to say it feels a lot better than the 3.08 now that I have something to compare it to. It's good to be here...I'm looking forward to learning and contributing. -Josh Current truck First truck
  15. Hey everyone, I have had my truck for almost 2 months now and so far I love it! But, like any of us, I want to make changes to it to make it "mine". I have only done a few mods but have more to come. Here is what I have done so far: Replaced all of the interior lights to LED using Diode Dynamics products Changed my low beam headlights toPutco LED lights Changed my fog lights to Diode Dynamics LED lights Also added the AVS low profile window visors There is much more i want to do but this is a start. Here is a picture of the visors....really love how they look!

It also has a lot of the premium goodies like lane departure warning and the Bose sound system. We get to keep it until next Friday. So, that means it's time to do a Live Review, similar to when we drove the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado in August. Here's the window sticker. This particular Sierra has an MSRP of $50,185. and a quick shot of the interior Many more photos and pictures to come.
