Hi everyone, I have a problem with my 4l60e tranny in my 96 Chevy Tahoe 5.7L Vortec. My trans won't shift to 4th gear. When I put shifter into overdrive position and start acceleration trans normaly shifts through 1-2-3 gears. After that RPM goes to 3000 - 3100 but car won't accelerate no more and I get 62 mph and 3000 - 3100 rpm. In shown in this video. https://www.youtube.com/embed/t0zkwD9MMd4 In good case when all work fineI have 80 mph at 2500 rpm. https://youtu.be/hAd4f2r_9sQ After diagnostic I replaced TPS sensor and brake switch, but problem won't go away. What could be the problem ?

TIA for your help and time… BLUF: Ticking noise under truck, not heard from top of engine compartment. I noticed a ticking/clicking/pinging noise under my truck today, took a video, hopefully you can hear it. Anyone else? Truck was in Park and Neutral (Parking brake engaged) and still heard the sounds.

Hey guys, I have a 2017 Silverado 1500. A month or 2 ago I had to get the transmission replaced, it’s still shifting very odd and just feels off. Jerking when going into certain gears, doesn’t want to shift at times etc. Is there anything I should take care of myself before taking it to the dealership again… this new trans has a 3 year warranty. Sorry that I am not the best at explaining issues like this, so any help is much appreciated

I am looking to replace my sensor and the harness as they are known to be bad and causing the p0711 code. In my research I found the 2015 has a split harness but they changed it in 2016 to a one piece harness and then I believe they went back to the split one, not sure which year. What is the part number for the sensor and harness? I've looked everywhere and can't find nothing, plenty of threads but noone has mentioned part numbers and acdelco website does not have a part listed in their catalog for that year.. nor does any parts site like napa or autozone

Getting some pretty nasty sounds from my transmission and wondering exactly what it may be. It seems to only make this sound when in Park or Neutral and also when the truck warms up, does not make this sound during start up when cold. Truck has about 152,300 miles and i had replaced all the fluid, filter and two solenoids at 148,600 miles 7 months ago. I'm pretty much expecting the worst here, but if anyone could give me some more insight as to whats going on besides it probably dying, i'd appreciate it. Clips of sounds here: https://youtu.be/blljaS5cpcI https://youtu.be/8T5tSLoT8aA https://youtu.be/wVcztpMtngc https://youtu.be/lfWhm7fJrYs

Has anyone ever tried changing the aluminum line to rubber hose crimps for the transmission and oil cooler lines out for AN fittings on and 07-13 Sierra 5.3L? I have a 2013 Sierra and the cold here in Canada isn’t kind to these crimps as I believe the rubber and aluminum have different shrink rates because of difference in material causing them to leak. Replacing them will not solve the problem as the will just do the same thing every year. So what I want to know is if anyone has successfully done this and what fittings did you use?

New Poster; greatly enjoyed reading the posts. My issue: 2019, 10K miles, 5.3, 8-speed, 4WD. Driving down the freeway at 67 mph with cruise and suddenly, the truck jerked hard, braked hard, lit up the dash with too many messages to read, but did not drop out of cruise control. I was then running at 4K RPM to maintain 60 mph. Got off the freeway, and discovered that I had no reverse, and what appeared to be 4th gear only (rev to 3000 RPM to get rolling). Called OnStar - they could communicate with the truck but got failure codes attempting to talk all the onboard systems - TCM, BCM, Airbag, engine - 30 minutes - and could not talk to the truck. Made it home (saturday night) let it sit till Monday morning and it started and shifted just fine on the way to the dealership. The dealer said it was the engine speed sensor and they replaced it and to come get my truck. When I did, the porter driving my truck ip only got to the edge of the service drive and stopped, engine revving. Complete trans failure - no forward or reverse gears. 3 weeks later, they say updated the TCM software per #19-NA-244: Harsh 3-2 Downshift During Closed Throttle Coast Down When Coming to a Stop- (Nov 1, 2019). There is a special note on this bulletin: Note: This calibration update will NOT address any other transmission shift or performance concerns. So, they can't reproduce the issue and have no idea how to fix it. Anyone seen similar issues, or this issue? Thanks!!

Hello T1XX owners, Did anyone put a dipstick in there 8L90e transmission yet? I would like to get a dipstick but am not excited about spending $180 and putting three holes in my new truck. B&M makes one that works but $180 seems like a lot(also three holes). Has anyone taken one from a Camaro and put it in? They have the same trans but different motor. so it might fit the trans but the bolt location might be different. My question again is, has anyone did it yet? What did you buy? How do you like it?

Can any one help me find this issue. On my 08 Silverado 1500 Vortec Max I can drive normally find no issues no lights etc. Sometimes though I can either be going over a small bump going around 10-20 mph and then it clunks and then goes into neutral. The 2 other ways it happens is when I make a turn and give it some gas to speed up it revs up and clunks and then goes into neutral and the 3rd way can be in 1st gear and then putting a decent amount of gas on it and then it does it again. It acts like its in neutral when its in drive and if I stop it just makes a bunch of noise and I can step on the gas and no movement. It sometimes will just go back into drive but other times I have to put it in reverse wait a second until it clunks back into drive and then its perfectly fine like nothing happened. The problem doesn't occur often but when it does it happens a few times more that day. I was thinking it might be a solenoid.

I’ve got a 94 Chevy k1500 with the 4l60e transmission. I have lost reverse completely, it will rev up to 2000 ish rpm in reverse and nothing, but that’s as high as it will go. It also drives forward in neutral but it acts like its in first and won’t shift up. In drive it drives completely normally, all the gears, smooth shifting etc. I just put this transmission in this truck and I got it from someone that I trust who said it worked fine, and when I first put it in everything was normal. But after a day of driving the truck now it has this issue. I’ve checked the fluid level and it’s where it should be as well as adjusting the shift linkage, and even disconnecting it and trying to shift it manually and same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 Silverado 4x4 that has transmission issues. The trans was rebuilt several years ago and work fine until i parked the truck for a year. Upon initially driving away from where its parked the trans does its job and automatically shifts through all gears. Once I stop and go to take off it clearly isnt in 1st gear. Best i can tell at that point the only gear operating is 3rd. Ive tried manually shifting and that does no different. Any facts, ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello, I have a 2003 silverado 1500 4x4 4.8L with a reman 4l60e that has approx. 11,000 miles on it. The problem i am having started after the trans had 9k on it. After the truck has been driven if it is shut off or idled for a few minutes it will not accelerate or shift normally. The trans is not slipping, the rpms just increase very slowly. It shifts at high rpms and usually very suddenly unles you let off on the gas to shift. This happens through all gears and it will completely go away and shift normally after a few minutes of driving. Also, if has been idling for a few minutes the rpms will go down to abt 450-500 then jump back to abt 650 and the truck will have a shudder as though it is trying to give power to something while just sitting there. It does not make any difference if it is in gear or park. This has never happened taking off with the trans cold and it has no problems with stop and go traffic only after idling or being shut off. It occasionally has a clunk while this is happening. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi everyone this is my first post and this is my first Silverado. So I was pulling an empty car trailer on the highway when I saw some smoke coming from my truck, followed by by it revving to the moon without grabbing. I got a alert saying trans temp has hot. I pulled over and noticed it was dripping trans fluid. After looking underneath I noticed what looks like a breather tube on top of the trans. This seems to be where the fluid is coming out from but I'm not sure yet. The trans seems to grab the gears under 1k for a little bit then it just slips entirely like being in neutral. I'm in formiliar with this truck and before I have someone take a look I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be. Side note right before I got the truck (2000k miles ago) the previous owner said "new trans" just installed. Could I have just blown a trans line? Vaccum line? Any reply is appreciated

ive got an 03 sierra 1500 4.8 4l60e myobd2 reader is showing torque converter clutch circuit/open shift solenoid A and B electrical shift timing solenoid tcc pwm solenoid circuit electrical trans was working fine, was doing routine fluid checks and seen trans was a little low so put about half a quart in (don't think I overfilled it and if I did it wasn't by much). now it doesn't seem to have 1st gear, when I manually shift it I don't feel it shift from 1st to 2nd, I feel it shift from 2nd to 3rd and I don't feel it shift into 4th (55mph tach reads 3000rpm). I put the scanner on it and got the above codes. I haven't pulled the pan off yet to inspect the inside. (plan on doing that this weekend) I did inspect the wiring on the out side and it seems fine. what do you all think, did my wiring on the inside take a dump, or can one solenoid or whatever be effecting all the crap inside the trans. it seems to be just an electrical issue judging by the code reader. thanks for the help and info.

hello, im new to this site and im trying to get my 85 gmc back on the road. Its a 6.2 diesel with a 700r4 transmision 4x4 all origional. The transmision case broke around the tailhousing so i need to get a new one, it didnt brake from impact or anything im guessing its a bad design or the driveshaft shaking around, and its had multiple transmision replacements in the past, more than it should so i dont want to make the same mistake and have to buy another one in a few years. Has anyone else had this problem? Should i switch to a diferent transmision? Are ther modifications i should do to fix the problem? Any input would be appreciated, thanks
