Cb Radio With Two Antennas

All,

Always kinda wanted a CB in my truck ever since HS when I had a lifted suburban and went offroading with a bunch of other folks that had CBs.

Seen several trucks lately with two shorter CB antennas coming off both front corners of the bed and liked that symmetrical look. Any idea how one would wire this up? Do the two antennas splice together with some sort of adapter into one CB input, or do some CBs have two inputs?

Thanks for any CB-install help,

-Steve

All of the ones that I have installed use a two into one antenna cable, pretty simple setup. If you do put them on the front corners of the bed i would suggest that you go with that tallest antenna that you are comfortable looking at. The cab will cause you to lose a lot of signal strength. I would also suggest that you get it properly tuned by you local CB shop. Good luck.

Unless you travel the interstate a lot, I wouldn't tie the two antenna's together. You will get better 360 degree reception with just one antenna hooked up. Many people just have the other one for looks.

I agree... the dual antenna setup concentrates your signal to the front and rear of the truck... so unless you're looking to talk to people up and down the road from you, its not the best set up.

Just install both antennas where you want, and only hook up one of them.
