My stock player in my 02 yukon xl was not working so I wanted to swap it out with a aftermarket one.. I had a nice alpine, I bought the wiring kit and wired it up no problem.. It seems to only work for a few minutes and then there is no sound.. everything on the dvd player keeps working, but no sound at all??

did I need to disconnect something else somehwere?? is there an amp that needs disconnected??

THANKS~!~!!

If you had the "premium" sound with the rear sub in the side panel cargo area then you have a factory amp. I'm not referring to the Bose system. There was a base system, then a premium system, then the bose system. When you unhooked your stock radio, there was the main harness and then a small (like 9 pins) harness. Your wiring kit plugged up to the main harness and left the small harness unused. You need to grab the pink wire in that small harness and connect it to the blue remote wire on your Alpine. That will trigger the stock amp to turn on.
