But it works great so I'm happy. Take it to another dealer that knows what they are doing. It will cost way less than $250 for sure.

Yea I live in NY, the dealer over here is a rip off What did you tell them that you needed to be done? thanks Just tell them you want your new back up camera enabled. This should be no problem for them if they know what they are doing. Its a simple hook up to the Tech 2 and they then enable the reverse camera function. There is an option on the Tech 2 screen to do this. After my local dealer did mine they said it was no problem at all once they figured out that it could be done. Mine was the first one they done-it was about 4 months ago. They have done several since then. If one dealer doesn't want to do it or wants too much check out another dealer-you will find one that is willing to help. The first dealer I took it to didn't want to do it or didn't know how. I went to another dealer and they said that they would try and they did it for $50.00. Works great.
Wacko2007 Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 Okay so i went to the dealer today, The hooked up to the tech 2 and he couldnt figure out how to enable it. Now he is telling me that it cannot be done WTF what do i do now????????? This really sucks, i hate the dealerships
Alljackedup408 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 i wonder if the BCM is programmed for the camera.
Wacko2007 Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 i wonder if the BCM is programmed for the camera. What is the BCM and what would be my next step? sorry for the questions, but i would really like to have my camera working already. thanks

What is the BCM and what would be my next step? sorry for the questions, but i would really like to have my camera working already. thanks The BCM is the body control module. It takes care of all the functions that are not engine, drivetrain related. Lights, locks, radio, heated seats, gauges ect ect. And im sure the camera enable is controlled by the BCM as well. Sometimes when trucks get reprogrammed, the tech misses or forgets to program an option in... ive done it as well at the dealer, forgot one time to put the auto mirror adjustment back in the new BCM, and the mirrors wouldnt move when put into reverse.. so i had to just reprogram it again. Did that camera system come with the truck from the factory or did the dealer add it on before you got it?
Wacko2007 Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 I had the lockpik and backup camera installed at a local electronic store. The truck has never been programmed before. Im losing my patients with all this stuff.. But would really like to get my camera up and working properly so im up for any suggestions and/or ideas thanks
Alljackedup408 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 if they installed it.. then why cant they get it working? or did they tell you to go to the dealer? dealers dont like messing with aftermarket stuff.. im tellin yah that now!

Im losing my patients with all this stuff.. But would really like to get my camera up and working properly so im up for any suggestions and/or ideas thanks Here are the instructions that I used to get my camera working. These instructions came from the camera manufacturer. I gave them to my local dealer. Worked for me. GM-900 SERIES NAVIGATION SYSTEM FLASH PROCEDURE FOR REARSIGHT CAMERAS 1. OPEN THE TIS2000 SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM AND SELECT THE CORRECT CONTROLLER (RAD) TO FLASH. 2. OPEN SERVICE PROGRAMMING AND CHOOSE THE CORRECT VEHICLE AND RADIO DETAILS. (EX. YUKON WITH NAV RADIO). YOU WILL NEED THE RPO CODES FOR THE VEHICLE. EACH VEHICLE HAS UNIQUE CODES (NORMALLY FOUND IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT). 3. BUILD OUT THE REMAINDER OF THE VEHICLE DETAILS. SELECT THE REARVIEW CAMERA OPTION. CHOOSE SOFTWARE THAT APPLIES TO THE PARTICULAR VEHICLE BASED ON THE EQUIPPED OPTIONS. REMEMBER THAT EACH VEHICLE IS DIFFERENT AND HAS UNIQUE RPO CODES. 4. ONCE COMPLETE, UPLOAD THE SOFTWARE BACK TO THE VEHICLE. THIS ENABLES THE CAMERA PORT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE
