Lift A 2wd Sierra

I am wondering the best way to go about lifting the front end of my 2000 Sierra 2WD. I want the truck level, just wondering if the best way is to get a leveling kit, or get 4x4 shocks, springs and install them to lift it that way. Eventually I want to put on a complete suspension lift so I raise the entire truck up 3-4", but for now I just want it riding more level.

Brandon,

Here is what I did to my 2000 GMC Sierra 2WD, and I was operating on a pretty tight budget.

I replaced the OEM springs with MOOG springs that correct the drivers side leaning down 1/2" from the passenger side and put a 4" lift kit from Springtech on the truck. It cost around $450 for the kit.

Rough Country has a 3" lift that is quite inexpensive as well.

Here are some before and after pictures. I also found some new wheels and tires on Craigslist.

I'm in Canada, so the lift kit you got will cost me abit more, but does exactly what I want done to my truck. Also, where did you get the springs that correct the drivers side drop? Did you have the lift professionally installed or DIY? Either way it looks great.

Brandon,

I had it done at a local mechanics shop under my supervision--it was inexpensive.

As far as the springs go, if your truck is not lower on the driver's side, then you don't need to replace them, but if it is lower on the driver's side here is the info:

Manufacturer: MOOG

Part Number: 60150

Description: Suspension Coil Spring

Front Susp ; Use to Minimize Lean ; if OEM Drivers Side Body Leans Down;1/2 to 1 More than Pass SideAT ; w/AC, 1 Per Veh;COIL SPRINGS; Years:1999-2002; Per Car Qty:1;

Springs

I got them through autopartsnerd.com. I do not know if they ship to Canada or not, but it was the cheapest price I could find.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier is that I also had to get 1/4" spacers for the front wheels to fit without rubbing. If you buy aftermarket wheels with the right backspacing this will not be a problem.
