Nav Question

I hope to be in the process of ordering a 2010 GMC Crew Cab 1500 soon and I am fairly set on the options I want at this point but the one that I can't decide on is the Nav unit.

 

I only use gps on occasion so I have been leaning towards the standard radio unit but I am curious about the Nav unit interface, namely can you control an ipod through the nav screen like I have seen on nav units from other manufacturers?

 

Also would there be an advantage to having the back up camera on the Nav screen as opposed to the rear view mirror?

 

What are the other pros and cons of the nav unit?

 

I would prefer to get it all at once than decide down the road that I want to upgrade the unit.
