Hid Kit Not Working?

Ok, I tried searching and didn't find anyone else with this problem...

 

I just got my 04 Sierra and selling my civic which has a 9006 HID kit. So before I sell it I decided to take the kit off the civic and was going to put it on my truck. So I took the kit off the civic and installed it on the truck and they won't come on. I took it back off the truck, hooked it back up on the car and it worked still. I also plugged the halogen bulb back into the truck and it came on like normal. So the kit is working... just not on the truck.

 

Any help??? Thanks!

those kits are junk and should not be used on your truck anyway. your using a halogen reflector with a HID bulb which scatters light and theres no cutoff shield so your blinding every driver that sees your lights.

 

if your using a hid projector or hid reflector more power to you.

most ballast come on with the low beam power wire and on the truck you have to make sure you have a good ground.

Well I don't have a voltmeter handy. But halogen bulbs come on with no problem. Any other suggestions?

Did you move the BALLASTS over to your truck from the Civic?

The HID bulbs have to have a BALLAST before they fire off.

Does your truck have DRL's? Ive heard of the HID kits having problems with DRL's and not igniting properly. I

Would think disabling the DTRL system would solve this problem?

In many cases, especially for those cars that have Auto "ON" or Daytime Running Lights; one or both light cannot Ignite Initially, Discharge Bulb turns off after just start the car, or even sometimes, bulb just turns off when driving.

 

Damage:

Fried ballast, fried relay, internally damage or burn the discharge bulb Gas Capsule.

Solution:

You MUST Disconnect the Daytime Running Light or Auto Switch “ON” function immediately before the actual HID Conversion. Due to the Steady levels of battery voltage is required at 12V or Plus before the initial Ignites of each HID Systems; you must prohibit the less voltage draw of car battery at HID’s start time. Daytime Running Light is 7V or less power output, and auto switch on headlight is always turn on seconds right before the car to start the ignition to charge the battery, which means Battery is focus on charging the ignition and waiting for alternator to recharge it back to 12V. Therefore, in both situations, battery is drawing much less power than 12V to initially ignite the HID headlight. Please perform the following:

º if you have Daytime Running Light please follow your car’s service manual; disconnect the fuse or wiring of Daytime Running lights only.

º If you have Auto Switch “On” Headlights, please switch the function to Manual Switch “On” headlights. To avoid further damages, always remember to start your engine before turn on the HID system! "

Get one? They're as cheap as a cheeseburger and a beer. Measuring the voltage will tell you if there's a low voltage issue in firing the ballasts.

Well I figured out the problem... the pos and neg on the plug to the HIDs was backwards from those on the truck. I didn't even realize or think to look at that yesterday. So I just switched the wires around and they work like a charm now! Thanks for the help guys!!!
