Heater, Fan And Ac

Hi,

 

First off I would like to point out that I am new here and I only know a limited amount about vehichles.

 

I am going to describe a small history and then my problem.

 

History:

 

A couple months ago I broke into my truck, I locked the keys in, stupid me. I couldn't get thru my window by prying it open so, I went thru the top of the door to press the electronic locks. And now my heater system don't work correctly.

So.. Now when I want to turn my AC on it will only go on while the fan is off. If I turn the fan / blower on the AC unit turns off and only blows out the limited amount of air that is in the tubes.

The heater seems to work as the fan is off.

 

As well the Heater and AC only blow on the floor vents. I am not able to direct the air flow to my top dash vents (defrosters or w/e they are called), mid level vents etc.

 

Previously the AC would turn off if i had my windows open. I am not sure if i broke some sort of sensor or what.

 

My truck is a 1997 GMC 1500 SLE.

Do you have automatic controls or manual controls. I dont think breaking into your truck has caused these issues

I believe its manual, has those little knobs that you turn.

 

I also Installed a stereo, but I also don't see why that would cause such a problem. I took it out, all the connections seem to be okay.
